Pulitzer prize winning journalist and National Geographic Explorer Paul Salopek, who is walking across the world on a multi-year journalistic project, will be offering a storytelling workshop on August 18, 19, & 20 to any students, media workers, and interested community members in Nuxalkulmc who are wish to learn techniques of 'slow storytelling': respectfully reporting, researching, editing, and publishing stories in text, photo and video formats.
During this 3-day workshop, the attendees will gather stories in the local community and polish them to publication quality with intensive one-to-one mentoring. The workshop will include in-class instruction as well as supervised reporting in the field. Writing professional text, capturing quality photos and videos, and the art of interviewing will be covered.
Beginner storytellers are welcomed. The workshop is free. The work of the participants will be published on the following National Geographic Society website: https://outofedenwalk.nationalgeographic.org
