Step into the studio and behind the console. Audio Recording Engineer: Soundweavings 2027 is designed for emerging recording engineers looking to strengthen their technical skills through mentorship, professional practice, and hands-on experience.
Through mentorship and applied learning, participants will develop their recording and post-production abilities, explore current industry practices, and gain practical experience supporting the diverse musical projects taking place at Banff Centre.
Faculty include:
✨ Theresa Leonard brings extensive experience in music production, audio post-production, and broadcast, along with a long history of developing the next generation of audio engineers through mentorship, training, and her work with the Audio Engineering Society.
✨ Morten Lindberg has built an internationally recognized career in classical recording, earning more than 50 GRAMMY nominations and two GRAMMY Awards through his work with Lindberg Lyd and 2L. His practice explores high-resolution and immersive approaches to recording.
✨ Darío Peñaloza is a two-time Latin GRAMMY Award-winning sound engineer with 43 years of experience in studio and live audio. Based in Mexico City, he continues to work professionally while teaching, writing, and mentoring audio engineers across Latin America.
