This is a 7x12 platter I made this winter. I started with a clear base, added transparent frit of green, blue, and purple in an abstract design then fully fused it. This now constitutes my coloured glass.
I made a design drawing wavy horizontal lines and vertical lines, then drawing the “cells” that were made and then erasing the lines themselves.
I then cut my “cells” out and placed them on an off white base, fully fused and slumped it. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

It's time to show you what we've been up to at the studio the last little while. Caitlin came a few years ago as a teenager and now came with her mom as an adult to make this so cute salad bowl. Kim created a sassy little sandwich plate. Laurel challenged herself to make the camouflage bowl and as well, a pair of elegant platters. Tanna made a wonderful little turtle with his flipper off the plate!

Hello all! Since we are all looking for something interesting to check out each day on FB, I'm posting some projects that have been created in the studio. Here are a few interesting projects I wanted to share. Leslie's was done with a recylcled project. Don't throw your pieces away- we can refire them! For Katrina's platter, we have to give Sandy B. credit for suggesting the border. Also credit to Allyson B. for the original design used in Brenda's piece. Sharing makes great art!

Parent and Kidlets Lantern Workshop!! Apr 22/2018
I have had people asking me if we can have the kids involved in the lantern workshops. Well, the answer is YES!
I have set up a workshop whereby family members can work on a lantern together. There needs to be at least one parent (or guardian) and 1-3 kids of 6 years of age or older. Since there are 4 panels to make, this works out very nicely.
The cost is $50 for the lantern and it will be ready by Mother's Day (wink wink).We will start around 10 on Apr 22 and finish probably around 3.

ANNOUNCING LANTERN WORKSHOPS

I have set aside three Saturdays before Mother's Day for you to make lanterns so that you can have them for Mother's Day gifts or just for your own patio this summer. You do not have to have Glass 101 for these one-day workshops but you do need to register. We are having great fun with this project and the results are fabulous! The classes will start at 10 a.m. and finish when you have completed your lantern. Cost is $50. The lantern size is 6x6x12 inches high. All supplies are included.
The dates are: March 24 April 21 May 5
