We love this life our little family is building.

It’s busy, and our kids’ needs are respected.
It’s loud, and we have a tonne of fun.
It’s messy, and there’s no pressure to perform.
It’s different, and we don’t mind not conforming to the outside expectations.

This summer has been so full. Of everything. So are our hearts.
Our kids have kept us busy as we make memories we’ll hold in our hearts forever. Some days are simple, quiet and peaceful. Others are full of adventure. None of these days we spend together are taken for granted.
I hope you’ve been too busy loving and living to answer all your texts right away. ❤️

Summer as working moms can feel really busy and rushed but we’re working on making time for little joys and finding the fun wherever we can.

It’s so easy as moms to feel the pressure to do, do, do (and to make a 💩 joke after writing “do do”). We’re working on focusing less on those external voices and more on meeting the needs and wants of our family. Sometimes it’s best for us to go out and have fun at a lake. Other times it’s best to stay in for a movie night in the living room. Our goal is to raise kids who can advocate for their needs, respect the needs and wants of others and find joy in the moments big and small.

Yesterday was a wild, whirlwind of a day. It was also the first anniversary of our first proposal, when my now-wife surprised me by getting down on one knee in our favourite coffee shop.

This year has been packed full of life and love and laughter, and even with the lower moments in between, I wouldn’t trade it. We’re in this together.
