♻️ Due to the weather, all curbside collection scheduled for Monday, December 29, 2025, including Downtown Business Area routes, have been cancelled. Please keep your materials inside and avoid placing them at the curb to limit interference with critical municipal operations. Residents will be able to set-out double their garbage limit at their next scheduled event (not the following week).

Waste facilities are also impacted, and many will stay closed today or have delayed openings.

The Town of Bracebridge has declared a Significant Weather Event for all sidewalks and Town roads effective immediately. As the forecasted freezing rain and weather conditions progress, road maintenance may to be impacted. Public Works crews have been servicing roads all day in preparation of the winter weather event and will continue to monitor the situation.

Residents are encouraged to:
➡ Postpone all non-essential travel;
➡ Have an emergency kit prepared to support you and your family for a prolonged period of time. This should include batteries, important medications, snacks, water and other lifesaving items;
➡ Be prepared for potential power outages. Ensure mobile devices are charged, generators are filled and have flashlights ready;
➡ Download and register for the Voyent Alert app to receive location-based notifications to your home phone, mobile device or email. Several information alerts have been issued today.

The District Municipality of Muskoka has also declared a significant weather event for all District roads.

The District of Muskoka Declares Significant Weather Event

The District of Muskoka has declared a Significant Weather Event for all District roads, effective immediately, 12:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025. The declaration is due to Freezing Rain and Winter Storm Warnings issued by Environment Canada, forecasting weather conditions that are expected to impact road maintenance operations.

Residents are advised to avoid all unnecessary travel on District roads to ensure safety while crews work hard to clear the roads. Winter maintenance operations may take longer during this event, so please be patient and stay safe.
