Great work Constable Conway!!! 🧡

BUAPC would like to highlight one of our cherished members, Constable Amanda Conway! 🧡

Amanda is a member of the Métis community and brings her valuable knowledge & experience to the team. She organizes the Pulling Together canoe event each year; one of our biggest events and a memorable opportunity on our Assiniboine River.

Cst. Conway has multiple achievements and organizes several events for Brandon Police Service, and other organizations. One of her many notable accomplishments include co-founding Project Resilience 911 which focuses on the mental health of police and other first responders, leading to her being awarded the Mental Health Service in Policing Award, a first of its kind!

Our own BUAPC coordinator & her daughter were blessed to be able to attend one of Amanda's drum-making events which sparked a love of drumming in their family! Cst. Amanda makes a positive impact on others, and we value her time, dedication, and continued commitment to TRW!

We are lucky to have such a hardworking, knowledgeable member on the TRW committee and we appreciate all that you do for our community, Amanda! 🧡
Chii Miigwetch! Thank You! Ekosani!

Our deepest condolences to Chief Palson’s family, work family and community. What an incredibly tragic loss. You will be missed.
Rest in peace, Chief.

Chief of Police Doug Palson

With a heavy heart, the Manitoba First Nation Police Service shares the sudden and tragic news of a house fire that occurred earlier this morning at the residence of our Chief of Police Doug Palson.

Portage la Prairie RCMP and Fire quickly responded to the scene, and once the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered human remains in the home.

Although the investigation is on-going, we believe that Chief Palson was the victim of this tragic incident. Manitoba First Nation Police Service is working closely alongside the Manitoba RCMP, and the Office of the Fire Commissioner during this process.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Chief Palson’s family as they deal with this tragedy. We are also sharing in the grief and loss which is being felt by the members of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service. We are all connected as a united police family at this time. Chief Palson was a passionate leader who loved our police service and its members who serve our 10 First Nation communities with pride and respect.

On behalf of the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council Police Commission, I would like to express our heartfelt sadness for the loss of Chief Palson to his family, friends, and colleagues. The days ahead will be challenging, but we will come together to support each other.

Sherri Thomas
Chair – Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council Police Commission
