If you're in downtown Brandon on Saturday for the Traveler's Day Parade, make sure to stop by one of the many great Coffee Shops/Restaurants we have in the area. Today, I stopped in for a coffee and say hello at O&O Coffee on 10th St. I have to say, they make one amazing Chai Tea Latte! You can also shop for some amazing art pieces.

I had the pleasure of emceeing this mornings announcement from the Minister of Mental Health and Community Wellness, Janice Morley-Lecomte in Brandon. The Manitoba government is investing more than $4.7 million to increase the capacity of high-quality, evidence-based addictions treatment services in rural and northern communities in order to ensure more Manitobans are able to access timely and effective treatment closer to home. I was also pleased to welcome Chris Broomley from PMH and Dwayne Dyck from Youth for Christ to say a few words on how this announcement benefits their clients.

The Manitoba government is also investing nearly $800,000 to support a new Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) team in Brandon. The team offers comprehensive, community-based psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation and support to individuals with serious, enduring mental health and concurrent disorders, the team will support up to 360 individuals every year across the Prairie Mountain Health region.
