User-generated content (UGC) is any type of content - such as photos, videos, reviews, testimonials, or social media posts - that is created and shared by the users or customers of a brand or company.
Rather than being produced and published by the brand itself, UGC is created and distributed by individuals who have a genuine interest in the product or service. UGC is often seen as more authentic, trustworthy, and relatable than brand-created content because it comes directly from users who have personal experience with the product or service.
Examples of UGC include customers sharing photos of themselves using a product on social media, leaving reviews on a brand's website or third-party review sites, or submitting stories and experiences related to a brand's mission or values. Brands can leverage UGC to increase engagement, build trust and loyalty, and showcase their products or services in an organic and authentic way.
