After thirty years of building toward this in pieces, this dream now has a place to stand - a place to be made real. RedDoor Creative Campus has a home.
I want to announce that we have acquired 8 acres on Six Nations of the Grand River. This 8 acres is only a piece of 25 + acres that will be developed into an Indigenous-led, Indigenous-owned, Creative Campus. With shared reality theatres, studios, office space, co-working, classrooms, event spaces, festival grounds and more - safe, grounded and embedded in culture. One day, to rival any creative space on the planet.
This is only the beginning, there is literally everything yet to do and it’s important to know we’re not doing this alone. There is a dream list of friends and partners who are coming with us and none of what comes next happens without them. Kim Hill and Lacey Hill are at the top of that list, it’s their support that made this real.
There is so much to this story and in the coming days we’ll start telling it with a virtual tour of the ground where the Campus will sit. It marks the beginning of a series where you’ll meet the people that have helped to shape the way we’re building the future of Indigenous Creative Ecosystems.
