BRANTastic! Small Business Awards Show:
A Celebration with Heart, Style, and Laughter!

BScene is rolling out the red carpet for its small business community and you’re invited to the party!

The first-ever BRANTastic Small Business Awards Show is coming this October 7th, 2025, and it’s unlike any awards show you’ve seen before. Inspired by the energy of a late-night talk show, this fast-paced, feel- good event will shine a spotlight on the people and businesses who make Brantford, County of Brant and Six Nations such a dynamic place to live, work, and grow.

Forget long speeches, this is a night of entertainment, storytelling, and celebration. With our charismatic host Graham Chittenden, live music by the Checkerboard Floors, creative commercial segments, and a few fun surprises, the show will keep you laughing, clapping, and maybe even tearing up a little.

Every award presentation brings the inspiring story of a local business to life!

But this event isn’t just for nominees, it’s for the whole community. Whether you’re a business owner, loyal customer, local leader, or just someone who loves supporting local, this is your chance to join in the celebration. You’ll be surrounded by an audience of small business owners, entrepreneurs, community champions, and their families and friends, all gathered to cheer each other on.

Join us as we celebrate art, music, and culture in this one-of-a-kind urban experience featuring local artisans, live music, and street performers. This night market will transform the Market Street Parkade into a creative, vibrant space you won’t want to miss!

A Quackin’ Good Time in Harmony Square

What started as a simple idea… Catch a duck, win a prize, has officially become one of Downtown Brantford’s most loved family-friendly events.

This year marked the second annual Catch-A-Ducky event, hosted by All Day Breakfast: The Creative Agency for the Downtown Brantford BIA. And if we thought last year was a hit, this year’s event was next level!

In 2024, we welcomed around 300 guests to the Harmony Square Fountain.

This year? That many people showed up in just the first hour and 15 minutes. (The event ran from 11am to 2pm)

Harmony Square came alive with laughter, music, bubbles, and the unmistakable charm of a 12-foot inflatable duck. Families lined up to take photos, kids danced to live performances courtesy of The Academy of Music and Performance students, and the entire space buzzed with positive energy.

We added new attractions this year, including an inflatable duck mascot, an activity table, bubble and chalk play stations, face painting by the incredible Hamilton Face Painter, and of course, prize-winning duck catching in the fountain.

The creativity, colour, and community spirit were truly overwhelming in the best possible way.

None of this would have been possible without the support of so many generous people.

Thank you to our tireless volunteers: Tammy, John, Cathi, Darryl, Erica, Kerry, and Susan, for keeping things running smoothly. A huge shoutout to Rupinder from the BIA for being our on-the-ground superstar, collecting prizes from businesses, promoting the event across the downtown, and amplifying our efforts on social media both leading up to and during the event.

This year we gave away over 300 prizes, from bubble wands and snack packs (not the puddings) to dinner vouchers, merchandise, and one very memorable $250 gift card to Perfect Image (yes, we heard the excitement).

One dad made a point to thank us for organizing such a thoughtful day for families. One mom told us how much she appreciated having a free activity for her kids. Those simple moments are what it's all about.

Last year, 15 downtown businesses got involved. This year? Twenty-one. And they didn’t just show up. They created magic.

Susan from Old World Marketplace customized adorable duck-tagged prizes.

Sean McAllister from The Academy of Music and Performance jumped at the chance to involve his students and give them a spotlight on stage.

That kind of meaningful engagement is what makes an event unforgettable.

As the creative team behind the Downtown Brantford BIA’s marketing, our mission is to shine a light on the entire downtown community. Catch-A-Ducky brought the people, and the businesses provided and showed up to represent what makes this district so special.

To Annette, Barbara and the entire BIA Board, thank you for your continued trust.

To our community, thank you for showing up with your kids, your joy, and your sunscreen.

We already have ideas for next year... and yes, the duck might be even bigger.

At All Day Breakfast: The Creative Agency (ADB), we’ve had the privilege of working with incredible charities and non-profits over the past five years.

Through these collaborations, we’ve seen firsthand the impact that passionate individuals and organizations can make in our community. This past weekend, our co-owner, Ben Strasser, was honored with the King Charles III Coronation Medal, and we can’t help but feel like a part of this recognition belongs to all the amazing people we’ve worked with along the way.

This medal is a testament to the trust our partners have placed in us, and Ben is deeply grateful to every organization that has allowed ADB to help share their mission, raise awareness, and create meaningful change.

A special thank you to Patti Berardi for nominating Ben and for your unwavering support over the years. The opportunity to work together at Rogers TV for nearly a decade now set the stage for a journey of collaboration, growth, and community-building.

From fostering spaces for millennials to connect and grow, to championing mental health initiatives, to supporting local charities and events, our work is always about the people and the positive impact we can create together.

This recognition isn’t just about one person—it’s about the strength of a community that comes together to lift each other up.

It’s been an inspiring journey, and we’re proud to continue supporting this vital conversation.

We’re thrilled to share the video we created for Michelle Kwasnik at Navigate Life Positively, showcasing her stunning farm and facility throughout all four seasons.

Over the course of a year, we captured the beauty of the landscape as it transformed from the quiet serenity of winter to the vibrant growth of spring, the sun-drenched days of summer, and the colorful fall harvest. Each season tells a unique story, reflecting Michelle’s dedication to helping others find peace, purpose, and healing in nature.

This project was a true labor of love, and we hope it inspires others to embrace the changing seasons in their own lives—because, no matter the time of year, we can all navigate life positively.

In partnership with the Downtown Brantford BIA and Harmony Square the following marquee letters have been erected in honour of Alexander "Aleck" Graham Bell.

Why Aleck?
From a young age, Bell’s family used "Aleck" as a familiar and affectionate form of his name. This was a tradition that continued throughout his life.

This celebration marks the 150th year of the invention of the telephone!
