A non-refundable retainer is required to hold your date. For most sessions this amount is $50. For full day weddings, it is $150.
All prices include digital versions of your photos, edited for style and light retouching (e.g. acne). I do not do extensive retouching as part of my packages (e.g. making people’s bodies look different).
Payments can be paid with cash, e-mail transfer, or business cheque.
All print orders must be paid in full when ordering.

These sessions take as long as they need to take. Sometimes we’ll be done in half an hour. Sometimes it will take the better part of two hours, especially in the case of big groups. Events have their own timeline.
There are no set numbers of pictures per package. I go through them and select ones that make you look fabulous.
Prices included edited digitals delivered via online gallery, or in the cases of weddings/events, USB stick.
These are the general prices for these sessions, but do not include long travel distances, for example.
Couples or Engagement Sessions – starting at $125
Capture your love and relationship in a spot that’s meaningful for you, or simply beautiful like the beach. Also great for maternity shots before you meet baby.
Small Family Sessions – starting at $150
Bring together parents and children (or fur children) for a family session that highlights your quirks and personalities.
Extended Family Sessions – starting at $200
Whether you’re having a party or a family reunion, it’s a great time to capture photos of all your relatives.
Solo Shots – starting at $125
No excuse needed for updated photos, but graduations, new jobs, pregnancy, and more are great times to get before the lens.
Newborn – starting at $175
We will use props and backdrops for a more stylized shoot, or do a photojournalist style shoot with less posing (or a combination of the two). These sessions generally take awhile due to the nature of babies doing what they need to do and when they need to do it.
Events and Weddings – starting at $200
Custom quote will include the complexity of the shoots as well as the times needed. I will customize your quote based on your exact needs so you don’t have to pay for what you don’t need.
Business Shoots – starting at $200
Looking to have photos of your business or organization for websites and brochures? We can do that so you have lots of visuals to choose from.
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?
I have a diploma in Print Journalism from Holland College, where I learned writing, photography, and graphic design. I also have degrees in English and Education from Acadia University. My work experience includes journalism, non-profits, writer for radio, substitute teaching, and freelancing.
WHAT IS YOUR DAY JOB?
I am a health educator and an advocate of gender and orientation diversity.

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I use Canon bodies and a variety of lenses, mostly primes. For editing, I use mostly Adobe Lightroom, with some touch ups in Adobe Photoshop.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
I generally offer on-site photography that captures you in a natural environment, whether that’s a beach or your backyard. If you are looking for formal portraits, please consider a studio photographer (although I can offer some light studio shooting, it is not my expertise yet). See my previous pictures for an idea of what you can expect. My goal is to capture bright, joyous photos of people being their authentic selves.
WILL I NEED TO PAY AHEAD FOR MY SESSION?
Yes. I ask for a non-refundable retainer to hold your spot. This protects my losses when people cancel without warning. There is some flexibility with the retainer. Please contact me and we can discuss your particular situation.
DO I GET THE RAW FILES OF MY PHOTOGRAPHS?
No, as these are rough drafts without the right colour or sharpening. All final products are large JPGs (or another format that you may request, like a TIFF).
WHAT AM I GETTING FOR MY SESSION FEE?
You are hiring my skills to take photographs, and will receive rights to share on social media with credit to me when reasonable, as well as large JPGs to make as many prints as you wish for personal use. Rights for commercial use will depend on needs and usage, so we can discuss this at the time of booking.
WHAT KIND OF EDITING DO YOU DO?
I shoot RAW, which means I touch up brightness, colours, sharpness, lens corrections, etc. in every picture. These are included with your session fee. In group photos, I may combine photos if someone isn’t looking in the right direction. I also touch up spots (e.g. pimples) and some stray hairs. I don’t do extensive edits that alter a person’s appearance.
HOW DO I GET MY GALLERY?
All session fees include an online gallery which you can use to download your photos for printing or sharing. If you have no internet or slow internet, please provide me with a USB stick. If I provide a USB stick, the cost is $15 to cover the stick cost.
DO YOU DO WEDDINGS?
A few each year. Feel free to contact me with your needs and we will discuss.
WHERE CAN WE HAVE PHOTOS DONE?
My fee covers Lunenburg County. Outside the county requires a travel fee unless otherwise negotiated. Here is an album of some of my favourite South Shore sites although you are welcome to suggest your own, including your own property.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
You should wear clothes that you are comfortable in! Some other tips for a fashionable photo shoot:
avoid too many busy patterns
avoid logos and other busy shirt fronts
solid colours work best, but don’t have to be the same (however, pick all cool tones or all warm tones)
longer sleeves and skirts or pants look best
simple jewelry or none at all (for example, wristwatches can be distracting)

DO I NEED A DEPOSIT FOR WRITING PROJECTS?
Communications work is a bit different than photography projects. Because writing projects can be unique, we will develop a timeline that balances work deliverables and payments.
WHAT KIND OF WRITING PROJECTS DO YOU DO?
I’m comfortable doing journalism, creative writing, editing, proofreading, websites, academic research, pamphlets, and similar projects.
HOW MUCH DO YOU COST? DO YOU WORK BY THE HOUR?
I work by the project and come up with a custom quote. I don’t bill by the hour, but take that into consideration when I do a quote.
WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE FACILITATING WORKSHOPS?
I have and Education Degree and have worked with both youth and adults. By day, I’m also a sexual health educator. I’m comfortable working with any material… after all, I spend my days lugging around wooden p***s demonstrators and working with junior high students!
WHAT KIND OF FACILITATION CAN YOU DO?
I can deliver a workshop from scratch, or deliver one that you need to use. Although I have a soft spot for “sage on the stage” type presentations, I prefer to use fun activities and group discussions for maximum learning.
