📣 SWIM MEET THIS WEEKEND
The Bridgewater Barracudas will be hosting their annual swim meet this Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the O’Regan’s Subaru Outdoor Swimming Pool on Jubilee Road in Bridgewater.

With competitors coming in from across the province for the event, motorists should expect to encounter increased traffic, both vehicle and pedestrian, in the Jubilee Road area and adjoining side streets.

We remind motorists travelling in this area on Saturday to drive with caution, care, and patience. We also remind motorists attending the event that they are required to abide by posted parking restrictions in and around the area, and that vehicles should not block driveways or encroach on intersections or crosswalks.

Let’s work together to make sure that everyone has a great swim meet this Saturday in Bridgewater!

Good luck, 'Cudas!

BPS execute search warrant; asking for public’s help

SOUTH SHORE BULLETIN STAFF

BRIDGEWATER – On July 11, Bridgewater Police Service’s (BPS) Criminal Investigative Division and patrol officers completed a Warrant to Search at a King Street residence.

A stun gun, ammunition, imitation handgun, brass knuckles, collapsible baton, cash, and drug paraphernalia were located inside the residence.

Stemming from the completion of the Warrant to Search, Cody Trimper faced the following charges: uttering threats to cause bodily harm; two counts of possession of a prohibited device/weapon; four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon or ammunition while prohibited by order; two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited device without licence.

Trimper has been on a 10-year Fi****ms Prohibition Order since 2017. He is currently under a Lifetime Prohibited Device/Weapon ban.

He was remanded to provincial custody and appeared at Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 14 where he was released with conditions from the court. Conditions included remaining away from the Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) victim of the uttering threats charge.

On July 16, Bridgewater Police Service arrested Trimper after he assaulted the same IPV victim. Stemming from that incident, he faces these additional charges: assault, administering a noxious substance; unlawful confinement; uttering threats to an additional party; possession of a weapon; and two counts of breaking the release order issued July 14.

Bees: Earth's Unsung Superheroes!

Scientists have officially declared bees the most important species on the planet — and it’s easy to understand why.

They pollinate 70% of the crops that feed 90% of the world.

They support biodiversity and keep ecosystems healthy.

Without them, much of our food chain would collapse.

But here’s the sting: bee populations are shrinking fast due to pesticides, habitat destruction, and climate change.

It's time to take action:

Plant flowers that bees love
Avoid harmful chemicals
Support sustainable agriculture

Let’s protect the pollinators that protect us.

No bees = No food. No future.
