Keeping dogs on-leash protects our parks’ ecological integrity and keeps your dog safe. 🐶🌲

🌳 A leashed dog can’t go “barking up the wrong tree." Some dogs have a heightened prey drive, others are curious, and some just like to chase things.

🚫 Without a leash, your dog may unintentionally wander into a protected or sensitive area. Dogs may trample, disturb soil, dig up trees, plants and woody debris that act as essential sources of food/habitat for species, as well as essential nutrients for the earth.

💩 Keeping a dog on leash allows us to see where he/she decided to…y’know. Aside from the obvious reasons to pick up after your dog, dogs (yes, even healthy ones) can carry viruses, bacteria and parasites which can be passed on to wild animals.

☀️ You may love your dog, but not everyone else does! Other hikers may not appreciate your pooch’s enthusiasm, and we want to respect everyone visiting the park and those creatures that call Presqu'ile their home.

Remember: Dogs are NOT allowed on the sandy beaches or the lookouts on Owen Point Trail at any time.

These are chargeable offences, and you may be evicted from the park as per the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act. The park warden can be reached at 613-243-0040 by phone or text if you have any concerns.

❄️ At Presqu'ile Provincial Park Marsh Boardwalk, the snow is mostly gone off of the boardwalk area but can still be found inside the forest along with ice.

Please be very careful all along the trail but it is definitely time to start making plans to open up the booking site again for the 2026 season.

🚶‍♀️ I needed this 1st walk of the season for many reasons and my mental health was definitely at the top of the list. I did it today with my cane so it was slow and easy but I feel great.

If you are interested in booking the experience with me and learning about how I switched from Truck Driver to Experience Host, please send me a message with what dates you are interested in and I will include you in the booking schedule. 🚛

Come experience with me, the healing benefits of our local flavours during a walk and picnic through Presqu'ile Provincial Park Marsh Boardwalk. Start off by meeting your host and others around the campfire and make entries in the locally handmade journal provided. Each event is unique and changes with the seasons.

Switching Gears is honored to sponsor a Christmas Tree in the Park this year. The process of designing the decorations with an emphasis on nature has been a delightful experience. 🔎 You will notice a departure from traditional designs, instead embracing a more organic aesthetic featuring wood and animals. I have made a conscious effort to repurpose, reuse, and recreate materials in order to minimize waste. ♻️

Some of the pieces have a story behind them, which I look forward to sharing with you in the weeks leading up to the Holiday Season. Here is a sneak peek, with the grand reveal taking place at the Brighton Tree Lighting event in Brighton's Memorial park, preceding the Santa Claus Parade. 🎅

I firmly believe in the magic ✨️ of this special time of year. See you all there.

There is still time for one final camping trip this season! Our campgrounds are open until October 26th, come enjoy the quiet fall season with us!

🍂 October Hours Update 🍂

🏠 Main Gate:
Sunday - Thursday: 8am - 8pm
Friday - Saturday: 8am - 10pm

🌲 Lighthouse Interpretive Centre:
Saturdays: 10am - 4pm

🛍️ Park Store CLOSED for the season.
Patches, stickers and some park merchandise available at the main gate.

🐢 Nature Centre CLOSED for the season.

Firewood and ice are available for purchase at the main gate during operating hours.
*All hours are subject to change.
