💔 A Difficult Update

We’re saddened to share that our Rec Room at Centennial Park was broken into recently, and a significant amount of our recreation equipment was stolen. This equipment is used every day to bring programs and activities to our community, and its loss is deeply felt by our staff and participants.

While this news is disheartening, we want to take this moment to thank our community for always standing behind us. We remain committed to providing safe, fun, and meaningful opportunities for everyone, and we know the strength of our community spirit will carry us forward.

If you see or hear anything that may help, we encourage you to contact the OPP.

Thank you, Prescott, for your continued support and care for our programs and spaces. Together, we will move forward. Stay tuned for a fundraising initiative to launch this fall which will support replacing equipment to be able to provide summer programming in 2026.

We hope to see everyone at our End of Summer Wrap Up event at Centennial Park hosted in collaboration with many community partners on Tuesday August 26th from 2-6PM.

Village Suites Hosts South Grenville Chamber Business After 5
By Jon Vickers Marshall

On Thursday August 21 the New Village Suites in Spencerville hosted a South Grenville Chamber business after 5pm event.

This was to showcase the 2 new Airbnb's rooms that will be available for guests visiting Spencerville and Area.

Owned by the Village Pantry owners, Tina and Brent Murray along with their son Curtis it was a night to showcase to local businesses and municipal officials.

Deputy Mayor Stephen Dillabough of EC Township on behalf of the Mayor Tory Deschamps presented a scroll to the owners and South Grenville Chamber Chair Kevin Spence offered congratulations on behalf of the chamber and welcomed the new business to the village.

Tina Murray speaking on behalf of the owners thanked everyone for coming, but also thanked the local contractors all who worked on the project who attended and is excited about the new business.

About 30 people attended the event including staff from the Town of Prescott, Dana Valentyne and Justin St Pierre and Counc. Tracey Young.
