A 33-year-old Ottawa man is dead after a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning north of Maitland.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m. on October 17, Grenville OPP and Leeds-Grenville Paramedics were called to Rocky Road, near County Road 26, after reports of a vehicle in the ditch.

Brockville police responded to a reported threat at Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) on the morning of Friday, Oct. 10 after a student said another youth was outside with a gun and planned to cause harm.

The school quickly entered a hold-and-secure at around 11:00 a.m. as officers arrived, secured the area, and began searching for the individual.

Brockville resident Samantha Ross is a proud citizen of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government in Alberta. Sadly, her mother was part of the "Sixties Scoop", the large-scale removal or “scooping” of Indigenous children from their homes, communities and families of birth through the 1960s.
