This has been some of the best news coming out of Canada in a long time. The beginning of an all Canadian social media company with morals. We truly hope Canadians can wrap our arms around the breath of fresh air and support these folks. Not only by using this platform but by putting our advertising dollars behind them. Signup today and get in on this exciting new project for us Canadians to share our stories with other Canadians.

Fun, private, and ethical. We're changing the way social media is done around here, all without your personal data taking an unexpected trip down south.

Canada Day is always better with a little music. Go out and support our Canadian musicians today and everyday.

Just a reminder that Howard Alexander’s memorial service will be held at Wall Street United Church in Brockville, Ontario. The service starts at 2pm and donations to the Brockville Music Festival will be accepted. RIP Howard. You’ll be missed.

Update from Deborah:

Service for Howard will take place on Wed., June 18, 2025 at Wall Street United Church, Brockville. Doors open at 12:45. Service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Howard's name can be made to the Brockville Music Festival.

It is with the deepest of regrets to inform our musical community that our dear friend, past member, musician, composer, conductor and arranger Howard Alexander has recently passed away at the age of 75. Over the past few years his struggles with some serious health issues and with the recent loss of his brother Bruce Alexander, has mounted a huge force against his ability to fight off what was coming next. We know for certain that Howard will be amongst some of the greatest composers the world has known and his creativity will be forever appreciated. Not only will Howard leave a legacy of music for us to enjoy, he also leaves us with some great memories and his unforgettable laugh. Even though his time on this earth was cut short, his legacy will continue for many years to come. Our hearts go out to his partner Deborah Dunleavy and to all of his family and friends that have crossed paths with this talented being. ---- FINALE ----

Our catchment area covers a large portion of Eastern Ontario. Many of our villages and towns will be having fairs and festivals during this summer and fall season. We encourage many of our followers to post/add your favorite events below in the comments and make sure to include dates and links to home pages. Our territory covers Alexandria, Cornwall, Chesterville, Wi******er and as far North as Hwy 43 all the way to Lanark, Kemptville, Smiths Falls, Perth in the North and to Brockville and to the edge of Gananoque to the South. Not to mention the many great little villages and towns within these boundaries. If you are determined to keep your money in Canada, these are the places you need to support. This is so important, now more than ever.

Please share this with your friends and help support our communities.

RIP Mark and thanks for being an advocate for traveling Canadian musicians.

RIP Mark and thanks for being an advocate for traveling Canadian musicians.

Yesterday we lost a great man, politician and a true Canadian. Former Transport Minister, Marc Garneau was incredibly supportive to Canadian Federation of Musicians using his ministerial prerogative to “ensure carriage” of musical instruments. We will be eternally grateful for his support and help. May he rest in peace for a life of public service well lived.

Upper Canada Musicians’ Association

Established in 1924 The Upper Canada Musicians’ Association was chartered to represent professional musicians from Lanark, Leeds and Grenville to Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Counties. We lobby goverments to recognize the value musicians and live music have to our national economy as well as local economies.
