🔥 1996 Beaded Border Toonie – Canada’s Rarest $2 Coin!

The 1996 Beaded Border Toonie is the holy grail of Canadian toonies, only four examples are known to exist! This ultra-rare coin features a ring of raised beads around the rim on both sides, a design that was never used in circulation.

There are two leading theories behind its origin:

It was a pattern experiment testing an early design.

Or an early variety that was cancelled and melted before release.

Either way, its mystery and rarity make it legendary among collectors. With only four known and certified by PCGS, examples of this coin can fetch thousands of dollars today.

If you ever spot a toonie with a beaded rim, check twice, you might be holding Canada’s rarest and most valuable two-dollar coin! 💰

👽 2018 Canadian $20 Falcon Lake UFO Incident 1 oz Silver Coin – Canada’s Unexplained Phenomena (Glow-in-the-Dark)

One of the most valuable and sought-after modern Canadian coins, this stunning release from the Royal Canadian Mint originally sold for just a few hundred dollars, but today, most examples sell for $1,000 or more on the secondary market.

This coin commemorates Canada’s most famous UFO encounter, when Stefan Michalak reported a terrifying close encounter near Falcon Lake, Manitoba in 1967. After approaching a landed craft, he was blasted by hot gas that set his clothes ablaze and left mysterious burn marks, a case that remains unexplained to this day.

💡 Features:

First-ever shaped coin to include photo-luminescent glow effects

Stunning glow-in-the-dark red, purple, and yellow accents recreate the blast and craft lighting described in Michalak’s account.

Full-color design by Joel Kimmel, vividly depicting the UFO and the moment of the encounter.

Crafted from 1 oz of 99.99% pure silver with a limited mintage of just 4,000 worldwide.

Part of the Canada’s Unexplained Phenomena series, one of the most popular and mysterious coin themes ever issued by the RCM.

🛸 Fun fact: Canada is a global hotspot for UFO sightings, over 1,100 were reported in 2016 alone, and only 4% remain unexplained.

Would you add this mysterious glow-in-the-dark UFO coin to your collection, or does it give you chills?

⛵ 2007 “Straight 7” & “Curved 7” Canadian Dimes 🇨🇦

Here’s another neat modern variety to watch for! The 2007 Canadian dime was produced with two different styles of the number 7 in the date the Straight 7 (common circulation version) and the Curved 7, which is found mainly in 2007 NBU(Proof-Like) sets from that year.

🧐 How to tell the difference:
Take a close look at the final digit in the date, the 7.

On the Straight 7, both the top bar and the tail are flat and angular.

On the Curved 7, the bottom tail curves smoothly downward, giving it a more rounded appearance.

💰 Values (approximate, NBU grades):

Straight 7: $0.75 – $24+
Curved 7: $0.75 – $29+

While the Curved 7 isn’t considered extremely rare or high-value yet, it’s definitely the scarcer and more interesting variety especially for collectors who enjoy spotting subtle design differences. These coins were not meant for circulation, so your best chance of finding one is in a 2007 NBU or Proof-Like set, though they can occasionally surface in bulk lots or auctions.

Composition: Copper-plated steel (magnetic)
Weight: 1.75 g | Diameter: 18.03 mm | Edge: Reeded
Design: Bluenose schooner by Emanuel Hahn; Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt

A cool, affordable modern variety with solid long-term collector appeal! 🪙
