Celebrate BC Rivers Day and World Rivers Day Fraser River Discovery Centre ! RiverFest takes place on September 19th, 26th, and 27th with family-friendly activities, exhibitors along the quay, live performances, and more!
Sept 19th is a day of walks and workshops that connect you to the river’s stories. Sign up for an Indigenous plant walk, a guided quayside walk, an ecology walk, or an aquatic animals workshop!

On Sept 26th, visit the FRDC for the Family Fun Zone and art workshops, stroll along the quay to check out the exhibitors, and enjoy the Lucille Johnstone Workboat Parade.

On Sunday, Sept 27th, visit the FRDC for the Family Fun Zone board the Samson V, and check out the Vancouver Wooden Boat Society's open house! Free admission to the FRDC on Sept 26th and 27th.

The event raises critical funds for BeMorr Society’s Mental Wellness Program, which provides accessible counselling support for individuals and families facing mental health challenges in the Fraser Valley.
Founded in memory of Brook Morrison, continues to honour his legacy by transforming personal tragedy into hope, healing, and community connection.

The International South Asian Film Festival (iSAFF) returns to Surrey for its 16th edition, running September 23 to 27, 2026.
Global BC is a proud community partner of iSAFF, the only South Asian film festival in Western Canada.
Screenings run September 24 to 27 at Landmark Cinemas, with features, documentaries and shorts from South Asia and its diaspora.
iSAFF InFocus Industry Day on September 24 brings emerging and established filmmakers together for conversations about the business of storytelling.

At Global BC, we’re proud to support access to justice for people across British Columbia.
We are thrilled to return as the media sponsor of Access Pro Bono’s 19th Annual Pro Bono Going Public – Free Legal Advice-a-Thon.

From September 8–25, hundreds of volunteer lawyers will provide free legal advice to more than 500 people across the province, while raising critical funds to support Access Pro Bono’s free legal services throughout the year.

The need for free legal help has never been greater. By bringing volunteer lawyers and communities together, Pro Bono Going Public helps ensure more British Columbians can access the legal assistance they need, when they need it most.
