hi… long time no post 🙈

been taking so many photos but they just sit on my phone because i start overthinking every single post. so here’s a lil saturday dump to start again

- dim sum brunch with the girls 🥢 somehow my first time at after 9 yearsin Calgary which is actually embarrassing 😬 apparently this is a staple in Calgary’s food scene

- got the girls to try for desserts. Got the mango for a change. One day I will be brave enough to try the Durian one

- found a brand new machine on fb marketplace 💖 nespresso prices have been unhinged lately so here we are 😭 lots of figuring out to do but i’m so excited to finally have an espresso machine

- moment of vanity because i really liked my makeup and felt cute ✨

- little walk around and stopped at for beans because i’m too excited to try the new machine asap

- my red ballet flats from Vietnam are slowly becoming a favourite. love how it adds a lil pop of colour to my basic outfits 🍒

- got distracted by matcha bowls at 🍵 i’m out of matcha powder so pls share your recs! I’ve been using the one from Matsu Kaze

- always a must to stop by when at Kensington. Sir Kilgore briefly graced us with his presence 🐱

- of course had to take cute photos at this telephone booth display

the morning person era starts now 🌅

i set my alarm for 6:30am every single night with full intentions and then proceed to snooze until 7:15 without fail. 5am is going to be a whole adjustment 🥴🥴 but i like a good challenge.

this week’s plan: 3 consecutive 6am classes booked because if there’s a cancellation fee on the line, i WILL get up 😭

anyway, this was from Tuesday and I was so shocked how bright it is outside at 5:30 am 🙈 Calgary downtown is also surprisingly peaceful which I love!

Not all cafés are built the same 💁🏻‍♀️

Been seeing a lot of my social media friends post about this cafe and I was feeling FOMO, so we decided to check out

Tbh most cafés start feeling like the same place with a different name 😤 Same aesthetic, same playlist, same energy.

And you know how sometimes a place got the vibes but the food and drinks don’t hit 😩 OR the drinks go hard but the aesthetic is mid 🥴

This place came through with BOTH 😤✨ Vibes immaculate. Coffee hard. Food even harder.

We loved everything we tried: banana cream latte, coconut cream latte, the shorty sandwich, and their soup of the day.

I’m afraid the hype was real 😭☕ Welp. Guess we’re coming back again.

Living together is beautiful…

but it can get routine fast. Between our busy schedules with work, personal goals, and hobbies, quality time starts looking a lot like chores, laundry, and zoning out on the couch together.

It can feel like we’re together but not really present.

So we made a rule: don’t just co-exist. Keep dating each other, keep showing up.

Anyway, this is your reminder to stop coexisting with your partner. Reconnect and keep getting to know each other. After all, love is more than just a feeling. It is a commitment.

Schedules dates if you have to. Put it in your calendar. No errands, no multitasking.

Stay in love 💖

Plot twist: my life wasn’t boring in the Blue Sky City.

I thought my life was boring because I work a 9-5. Turns out I was just burnt out and stuck in the same routine. Wake up. Work. Sleep. Repeat 🔁

I decided to make a change. I started doing little side quests outside of my 9 to 5. Trying new workouts. Going on walks. Attending events. And somehow life started to feel more interesting again ✨

The Blue Sky City did not suddenly become magical. It was always full of beauty, community, and little moments worth noticing. I just had to meet it halfway.

So if you are feeling stuck, you should do something outside of your routine. Calgary still has so much to give you🌤️

2024, you were magical and unforgettable.

Some of the highlights of my 2024:

- competed in powerlifting against some of the strongest in western Canada and ranked 5️⃣th out of 14 lifters in my weight class and category ✨

- finally graduated from university 🎓 (started university back in 2015 so this has been a long time coming)

- got engaged to the love of my life 💍 (intimate and surprise proposal with so much tears of joy + Renzo made a very cute vid of it that we could always look back on 📸 )

- went on our first international trip just the two of us ✈️ Japan 🇯🇵 and the Philippines 🇵🇭 (had so much fun exploring Japan and met our friends and family back in the Philippines)

- started working full-time 👩🏻‍💻(adult money & bills 🙈)

- moved in together 🔑🏙️ (made the decision to rent in downtown for our first year; so excited for the life we’re gonna build together)

ahhhh truly one for the books 💖 grateful for this year. To more growth, love, and success in 2025! 🎇

PS: This is just my highlight reel. Behind these happy moments were tears, self-doubt, and battles with self-sabotage but i’m working on that (hello therapy)

New glasses making me look like smarter than I actually am 👀🙇🏻‍♀️📖

Spent our Saturday this weekend at the beautiful Calgary Central Library to catch up on school work. Not gonna lie I haven’t been at my best game in the past months. Thought I’d be an academic weapon in my last year but I am more of an academic victim 🥲🥲

Studying at the library has been beneficial though. I needed a change in environment and Central Library was a lovely place to get some work done👩🏻‍💻👩🏻‍💻

Some things to remember:

🌟Sign up for a library card account as you will need this to connect to the wifi and of course to borrow books.

🌟It can get very busy at times so show up early if you can.

🌟If you do not want to bring a laptop, there are available desktop computers you can use.

🌟Finding an outlet for charging can be a struggle so make sure that your devices are fully charged.

🌟There are no coffee shops in the library so make sure to bring drinks or snacks if you are planning to stay long (there used to be a Luke’s Cafe there when the library first opened)

🌟 Board games (Anomia, Catan, etc.) and gaming consoles are available if you want to take a break from studying
