Through building with Lego and magnetic blocks, children strengthen fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness as they independently manipulate pieces and construct their own creations. These experiences also encourage early science skills through cause-and-effect as children test ideas and notice how changes impact their building. Additionally, these experiences support problem-solving, self-regulation, focus, and language as children seek answers, stay engaged through playfulness, participate actively in shared learning, communicate their ideas with others, and practice care for their materials as they work.

Children were exploring touch-and-feel books in a cozy center and working a floor activity with manipulative materials, supporting fine-motor skills, sensory processing, early language development, and spatial awareness.

The children enjoyed park play with climbing, sliding, and running. This helped support their confidence, body awareness, and self-regulation as they explored safe risk-taking at their own pace.
