Madonna is proving once again she plays by her own rules, even behind the scenes 🎬👑
The Queen of Pop revealed her long-awaited biopic has officially been scrapped after a major budget clash with Universal Pictures, despite spending two years writing, casting, and developing the project. And for Madonna, it came down to one thing: telling her story the right way. “I’ve had an extraordinary life… so I needed a big budget,” she explained, refusing to scale down a narrative built on reinvention, resilience, and global domination.
The film, set to star Julia Garner and co-written with powerhouse writers like Diablo Cody, was meant to trace Madonna’s journey from Michigan roots to the 'Ray of Light' era. But creative differences (and a little studio doubt 👀) ultimately shut it down.
A new chapter is already in motion, with a Netflix limited series now in development alongside director Shawn Levy. Madonna admits the process hasn’t been easy, months of searching for the right team, but if there’s one thing her career has proven, it’s that she doesn’t stop creating.
“I need to work, I need to create. I need to do what I was put on this earth to do.”
