Our Mission
Twic Media Reports is committed to delivering credible, inclusive, and community-driven journalism that informs, educates, and empowers South Sudanese people—both at home and in the diaspora. We give voice to our communities by telling their stories with dignity, accuracy, and integrity. Our Vision
To
be a trusted national and community media outlet that bridges information gaps, promotes civic engagement, and amplifies the voices of South Sudanese people across borders—helping to build an informed, peaceful, and united society. Our Core Goals
• Promote access to information in all payams, counties, states, and diaspora communities.
• Preserve culture and history through storytelling and documentation.
• Support democratic values through coverage of youth, civil society, and governance activities.
• Encourage dialogue and peacebuilding through responsible journalism.
• Elevate underrepresented voices, including women, youth, and rural populations.
• Serve as a training ground for aspiring South Sudanese journalists and communicators. Editorial Values
We uphold the following principles in all our news gathering, reporting, and publishing:
1. Accuracy
• All information must be thoroughly verified before publication.
• We strive to present facts fairly and correct errors transparently and promptly.
• Sources must be identified wherever possible, and anonymous sources used only when essential and verified.
2. Impartiality and Fairness
• TMR is politically non-partisan and refrains from publishing biased, inflammatory, or unverified claims.
• Every subject has the right to respond. We seek multiple perspectives, especially in contentious matters.
3. Independence
• Our editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, donors, politicians, or special interest groups.
• We disclose potential conflicts of interest and uphold journalistic integrity at all times.
4. Community-Centered Storytelling
• We prioritize stories that impact local communities, whether in Twic County or in South Sudanese diaspora hubs abroad.
• Our reporting reflects the diversity, culture, and realities of our people.
5. Dignity and Sensitivity
• We report on trauma, conflict, or death with respect for victims and their families.
• We avoid publishing graphic content or sensationalizing tragedy. Editorial Practices
