Toddlerhood is humbling me in ways I did not expect 😂🤍

I love this stage SO much, but wow… it can also be exhausting.

One minute she wants to do everything herself, the next she needs Mama. One minute we’re laughing, and five minutes later we’re both overstimulated because I helped with the shoe she very clearly wanted to put on herself. 😂

I’m learning that so much of this season isn’t about having the “perfect” response. It’s slowing down when I can, giving her a little more independence, choosing my battles, and also recognizing when *I’m* the one who needs to regulate first.

None of these things work every time. Some days I handle things exactly how I hoped I would, and some days I definitely don’t.

I’m not a parenting expert. I’m just a mom learning my almost 2-year-old while she’s learning the world — and sharing the things that are helping us along the way.

So if you’re in the toddler trenches too… hi mama. You’re definitely not alone over here. 😂🤍

Summer is going by WAY too fast 🥲☀️

So we put together some of our favourite things to do with kids in + around Calgary before summer officially ends — from splash parks and U-picks to indoor rainy-day spots, farms, festivals + places to burn off all that toddler energy 😂

Some are free, some are budget-friendly, and some are worth making a full day out of.

everyone brought the clothes their kids had outgrown or no longer needed, we laid everything out, and then all the moms got to “shop” for whatever their little ones could use.

i somehow went home with three full boxes of clothes for autumn 😂 it saved us so much money, cleared out some much-needed space at home, and made sure all those perfectly good hand-me-downs went to another little one instead of sitting in storage.

plus, we got to catch up while we shopped, and the kids got to run around and play together in the backyard. honestly, the perfect mom hangout.

thank you for being the best hosts 🤍 and to all my mom friends who brought clothes and made the day so much fun - love doing motherhood with you girls!
