They say some guests at the Banff Springs Hotel never check out. After hearing the screams from Room 873, I wouldn’t either.

Urban legend has it, a family was 💀🔪 there in 1928, and the room was literally bricked up because it was too haunted to handle. So naturally, Waffles and I went to see for ourselves.

So did we see a ghost… or just one that looks suspiciously like Waffles 👀 You be the judge 🧑‍⚖️

We recently checked into the shmancy Resort hotel for one last paw-cation before it closes in October… but don’t panic, it’s just for a glow-up, not a goodbye. Since 1992, this Banff classic has been serving mountain views, fine dining (hello Eden), and timeless glam. But Accor, the hotel group that Rimrock belongs to, is hitting pause to give the Rimrock a luxury-level makeover—think facelift, but make it alpine chic.

And obviously, you don’t show up in sweatpants to a luxury establishment like this. So I packed for the occasion: cue the tuxedo, the Gucci trench topper, and enough attitude to match the chandeliers. Would you expect anything less from me. I soaked up every second, every treat, and every 'who does he think he is' stare.

We even took in some of Banff’s famous sites like Lake Louise where I took an .sedona inspired selfie! Hard when you have short legs, but I tried anyway!

I’ll definitely be back in fall 2026 to inspect the remodel. I will be waiting for my invite 🤩

Booked a little staycation back in Banff at the Rimrock Resort Hotel and naturally packed the essentials: silk pajamas, robe, bunny slippers, and attitude. Swipe to see the bedtime outfits of a high-maintenance icon.

This iconic Banff hotel is pet-friendly. But not just “sure, we allow dogs” pet-friendly, more like “please enjoy the mountain air while your dog takes in the ambiance from the king bed” kind of pet-friendly. Part of the .accor family of hotels the Rimrock gets it. Luxury isn’t just for humans.

Can we take a moment to acknowledge this magnificent winter beast ready to conquer any mountain 🤪 All you Huskies and Aussies step aside, Waffles in an adorable snowsuit is here!! Albeit his preferred 'hike' is straight to a dog friendly establishment in the town of Banff that has a pup cup and his definition of mountain is the pile of whip cream that better be in that pup cup! I mean let's be serious, he hates the cold, but his snowsuit lets this boy enjoy some outdoors time, even if it is just a walk to the coffee shop!

We did a day trip to Banff about 1.5 hrs away from Calgary 2 weekends ago. This was taken up at the Hoodoos Viewpoint with Mount Rundle in the background. If you check our feed a few back you can see his encounter with a Sasquatch (aka Bigfoot)!

Found this gem from back in 2018! Since we stared Scout's account in 2016 and Waffles joining the family in 2017 we have taken thousands of photos we have never posted! This was actually taken out at our family farm south of Calgary along the Sheep River.

We may just start doing photo dumps because there are some really cute ones that need to be seen 🤪

The look of pure happiness! Sandy nose and sandy toes 😍 And his favorite ball too! It was such a great trip I don't want to wait another 4 years to get back there! If you haven't been to Huntington Beach dog beach in Orange County California (about an hour south of LAX airport) you must add it to your bucket list!
