Today is Father’s Day.
And while we appreciate and celebrate fathers for their provision especially, I particularly want to appreciate the fathers who are fathers to both the children they birthed and the ones they didn’t.
To the fathers who hold the hand of a random child trying to cross the road, we say thank you.
To the fathers who buy candies for their children and their friends, we say thank you.
To the fathers who include their friends’ children in important opportunities and connections, simply because they can, we say thank you.
To the fathers who come to the aid of wailing children in distress, we say thank you.
To the fathers who guide children onto the right path, even when those children do not understand at the time, we say thank you.
To the fathers who run errands for their wives when a child is sick, we say thank you.
To the hardworking fathers who barely make enough, yet continue striving to give their children the very best, we say thank you.
To the fathers who farm and toil day and night just to fulfill their responsibilities, we say thank you.
To the fathers who wake up at 4 a.m. without an alarm, already thinking about the future of their children, we say thank you.
To the fathers who leave home before sunrise and return late at night with barely enough, yet wear a smile because their children are their strength, we celebrate you.
Your wives see you.
Your daughters see you.
Your sons see you.
Your sisters, mothers, friends, and even strangers see you.
We see your strength.
We see your resilience.
We see your sacrifices.
We see your courage.
We see your love.
We see your protection.
We see your provision.
And we do not take any of it for granted.
Today, we celebrate responsible fathers and men everywhere.
Happy Father’s Day. ❤️
