Pacific Coast Part 10: San Diego's Balboa park was massive - filled with fantastic architecture from around the world, exotic gardens and museums. Biking was the best way to cover this huge park. Surfing lessons at Pacific Beach was a highlight and an intense workout! We also strolled around the historical Hotel de Coronado. So much to do in San Diego!

Pacific Coast Part 9: We took in the La Jolla cliffs from above at Torrey Pines Park. It was also a perfect place to watch paragliders taking off and floating over the ocean. The cliff walk was definitely a bit nerve wracking but totally worth the spectacular views.

Pacific Coast Part 8: California’s coast is lined with piers, wharfs, and old cannery rows—each one with a different story! This one is called Stearn's Wharf, located in Santa Barbara at the end of State Street! State Street is a walk/bike promenade lined with shops, theatres, eateries - and bustling with activity! We were lucky to be in town for the annual Madonnari Street Painting Festival at the old Mission. A highlight was visiting to meet some locals and experience a passionate community.

Pacific Coast Part 7: Santa Cruz was such a laid back beach town - and the place where surfing was born in the US! After work everyday it seemed like the whole town streamed down to the water to catch some waves and play beach volleyball until sunset. It was pretty special to be a part of that culture even just for a few days. The water was getting warmer too as we headed south, making it a perfect place to stop and swim. Captured so many species of birds on this trip, soaring right over our heads, especially the brown pelicans!

Pacific Coast Part 6: Big Sur was big in every way. Dramatic cliffs on the ocean. Numerous vista points with breathtaking views. Isolated rocky beaches with crashing waves. This was a road trip experience to be savoured. We stopped every chance we got to feel the power of Big Sur. This place reminds me that the earth is much bigger than me and our stewardship is vital.

Pacific Coast Part 5: We were constantly amazed at how every single beach that we stopped at was completely different from the last. It really never gets old. This beach near Sand City was covered in huge sand dunes and colourful succulents like nothing we have back home in Calgary!

Bringing videography into a warehouse setting meant thinking on our feet—things generally don't go exactly as planned. We had to get creative with the gear and our angles to turn a raw space into a story. Using a forklift and a palette jack, we created a mobile camera dolly to quickly cover the massive space. Learned a lot about adapting on the fly! Thank you Alberta Enterprise Group and Steve Gallivan at CSC Valves for two great days together.

Pacific Coast Part 4: Monterey quickly became one of our favourite stops. It was honestly so hard to leave. We spent hours exploring the rugged coastline and endless tide pools full of sea life! Not even the drone could fully capture the beauty and power of the crashing waves.

We were so excited to celebrate the grand opening of Cottage E with Wood's Homes back in January of this year. Located in Parkdale Calgary, Cottage E is their newest home designed to be a place for rest and recovery. Since COVID-19 there has been a much higher demand for these spaces. Thanks to Woods Homes for working so hard to support at-risk youth. It’s a real pleasure to continue working with them and to be a small part of the incredible work they’re doing for youth mental health in Calgary.
