Bucketlist shots: capturing the Northern Lights over the Rocky Mountains in October 2024.

The craziest thing about the Northern Lights this year is the length of time they have been in the sky on these incredible aurora storm nights. These northern lights lasted the entire, literally from dusk til dawn! Usually you only get a show about 30 minutes to an hour long, if you are lucky!

We could see the colours with our bare eyes and watches as they danced like fire and pulsed all around us

In some of the photos, you can see the glow from the moon set as it tucked behind the mountains. I even captured one photo of the aurora in front of the moon!

I still can’t believe it was even possible to capture aurora this beautiful when the moon was out!

So, this is 33? 🥳

TBH, it’s been the most hectic, crazy, stressful, chaotic year of my life and I’m so grateful for it!

I bought a house which needed a ton of renos while I was working full time, back in school part time, going on vacation, balancing a social life, finding out I have ADHD and having to work 16 hour days, yet somehow I made it happen!

With pain brings growth and this year was a lot of tears (happy and sad and excited and depressed). We go through ebbs and flows, ups and downs and those periods when “we just wish it was over” or “after this then I can rest”.

The best thing I heard recently is that we don’t have to be in balance all of the time, sometimes it’s okay to be in high stress or depression or happiness, as long as we can find moments to balance ourselves.

Angle number 33 says increased vibrations of expansion, spontaneity, broad-minded thinking, encouragement, self-expression and communication, and manifestation, so I don’t except this year to be any less chaotic than the last 😉

The sun was shining, the mountains were perfect and we even got a little sprinkle of snow that looked like natural confetti as it sparkled in the sun, beautiful! 😍

Another successfully hosted BBQ: Country Club Edition 💕

I love themed parties and it’s awesome when everyone gets involved! People have also mentioned to me that they like it too because it takes out the guessing game of “what should I wear”!

🚨 STOLEN ‼️ Lukes bike and trailer was stolen this morning, please keep your eye out for it 🙏🏻 He was taking his motorocycle in to get a flat tire replaced, so it was loaded on a trailer. He came back out to his truck morning and it was gone. August 16 around 10AM in NE Calgary.

While I used the last year to recreate my wardrobe, now it’s time to get creative on how I use it! These pink velvet pants are from a pant suit, but I was determined to wear them. I always want a pop of colour in my day and decided to use some neutrals with the fun textures of the teddy coat to make it happen! In order to balance it out, I paired it with my white heeled boots. If it wasn’t summer weather outside, I definitely would have had to rethink my boot choices, but luckily we’re getting that warmer than normal weather!

Unexpected experiences in 2023 🥹😭😂

- Closing my business, this took a lot of guts and hard decisions, but I decided it wasn’t my ultimate dream and it wasn’t the direction I wanted to go in. Those I have the entrepreneurial mindset and plan to still make big waves in the future, this was difficult. I had to “allow” myself to be okay with the learning over the past few years and putting it down to take on some new challenges.

- Getting a handle on my ADHD, this was actually in my goals from Jan 2023, but it didn’t happen until around Sept of 2023. I was so scared of medication and after talking to a friend, decided it would be a good idea to at least try it. Happy to report I feel no personality changes and am simply able to focus more and for longer periods of time 👌

- Grief comes in waves and even though it’s been over a year since I lot my grandfather, his profound impact on my life with advice, financial decisions and suggestions for my future left me questioning my capacity to be able to do what he taught me to do without him. I took this especially hard this Christmas after feeling like I didn’t have a proper grieving process in 2023, I just kept pushing forward and pushing my emotions out of the way. We all need time to process and I’m still processing as I had plans for us and I still struggle to “replace” those ideas with new ones.

- Sharing financial conversations is something I love talking about with everyone I meet. I have shared some financial pointers on my IG stories in the past, after some feedback, I decided to share some opinions and some knowledge that banks don’t always tell you on and I look forward to diving more into this as I continue my schooling and learn even more about finances!

- Laughing until I cried is something I only remember doing as a kid and only a few times since then. We lose that ability to be absolutely openly silly with each other and sometimes just lose those connections. But some good belly laughs have been had over that past few months and it feel incredible!

At the end of 2022, I binged , I became obsessed with the fashion on the show. I wanted to dress how they dressed. I wanted to expand my colour palette from black to literally any other colour.

One thing I struggled with is wearing dresses/skirts. I’m not a big dress person, because I get cold easily and honestly find them to be quite inconvenient. So I decided to use the fabrics and colours as inspiration for outfits instead of following or finding exactly what they were wearing. (I also wanted to be budget friendly and not break the bank!)

In the show, they were always wearing heels, and I want my feet to survive for when I’m older. And just to mix things up, I like heels and pants or dresses and sneakers.

It took a full year, but I’ve finally done it. I’ve created a wardrobe I love!

I want to note that I did use some pieces from my wardrobe I already had, and I will continue wearing these pieces for years to come as I am not a fast fashion girlie. Most of these pieces are from , budget friendly and good quality!
