And here’s to a new chapter; a big jump, a little scary, and so incredibly exciting. 🤍
Edmonton, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put into words what these last nine years have meant to me.
I came here at 18, just a kid trying to figure out who I was, with big dreams and no idea where life would take me. I thought I was coming for school and wrestling, never imagining I’d leave nine years later carrying a lifetime of memories with me.
This city became the backdrop to so many of my firsts; my first tattoo, my first home, my first dog, my first national championship, lifelong friendships, heartbreaks, big dreams, and unforgettable memories. From wrestling mats and podiums to the most unexpected Amazing Race Canada moments, so much of my life happened here.
But what makes this the most bittersweet departure isn’t the accomplishments; it’s the people. The late nights, kitchen conversations, celebrations, difficult days, and the people who met me at 18 and watched me become 27.
Edmonton challenged me, shaped me, and taught me how to fall, get back up, and keep going. Most importantly, it gave me people who believed in me, showed up for me, and loved me through every version of myself.
I’m not just leaving a city. I’m leaving behind a version of myself, the 18-year-old girl who arrived here not knowing what she was doing, and the woman she became along the way.
I think she’d be pretty proud of how far we’ve come. 🤍
So this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later.
After nine years of becoming, it’s time to go home. Calgary, I’m coming back to you.
A new chapter, a new challenge, and a PhD waiting for me. 🎓
I’m scared, excited, emotional, and unsure of what comes next. But if Edmonton taught me anything, it’s that some of life’s most beautiful moments happen when we’re brave enough to step into the unknown.
Thank you, Edmonton, for the last nine years; for the memories, the lessons, the people, and for helping make me who I am.
I’ll always love you. 🤍
Here’s to the next chapter. ✨
