I came across this image today, and it hit me harder than I expected. Not because it’s perfect—but because it captures a profound, heartbreaking truth about where we are right now.

When 700,000 of our neighbors—everyday moms, dads, workers, and elders from all walks of life, including our First Nations communities—stand up together to ask for a voice, they shouldn't be met with a slammed door and an unelected gavel.

For too long, we’ve been pushed into corners. Left vs. right. Blue vs. red. Neighbor vs. neighbor. Meanwhile, the people who are supposed to represent us keep playing the same old games while the rest of us pay the price. Groceries are up. Housing is out of reach. Division is everywhere.

Most of us aren’t extremists. We’re just human. We’re everyday folks who want a future where our kids and grandkids can afford to live, work, and build something real. This image reminds us that we are all being played when we let division run the show. We don’t need more fighting. We need more courage, more honesty, and more unity. It is time for a government that actually answers to the people again.

We only get better when we stand together instead of tearing each other apart. Peace be the journey. Let’s rebuild something worth handing to the next generation.

Trudeau appointee: 1. Alberta Democracy: 0.

The judge calls our legitimate democratic expression an 'Unlawful Show.' We call it 700,000 citizens peacefully asking for a say in their own future. Who is really acting unlawfully here? The people participating in democracy, or the system that seeks to suppress them? Makes you think.

When people ask why the Alberta independence movement is growing, this week's court ruling is the perfect answer.

The Court of King's Bench just struck down the provincial separation petition, ruling that it "should never have been issued." Think about that. A movement backed by hundreds of thousands of signatures—part of a larger conversation involving roughly 700,000 Albertans who want a public debate—was completely wiped off the table by a single judge.

Suppression doesn't make a movement disappear; it just proves the movement's point. By using the federal judicial system to block Albertans from even having a vote on their own future, they have fueled the exact fire they are trying to put out.

We are told to trust the system, but the system keeps telling Alberta to sit down and shut up. Fortunately, the Premier has announced an immediate appeal.

Alberta has fueled this country for decades while being treated like a second-class citizen. We’re tired of being the "ATM for Ottawa." Independence means our resources stay here to build our hospitals and our schools. It’s time to look out for the people who do the heavy lifting.
