Today, we are launching a series of shows dedicated to the often-overlooked role that is instrumental in local government.

Over the next few months, Ian and Chris will be joined by guests who have one thing in common. They all have - or have had - experience as the Chief Administrative Officer for a municipality. To kick off the journey into the role of CAO, we are honoured to be joined by a new CAO Josh Saskiw, of Marwayne, Alberta.

But to kick us off, our rundown today includes the lack of Code of Conduct Legislation in Alberta, A Councillor in Ontario pointing a finger at Artificial Intelligence, and one year after a council was dissolved, how has the community gotten on?

After more than twenty years at the council table, last November marked the end of an era in the Rural Municipality of Meota No. 468. Longtime Reeve, Sherry Jimmy, decided it was time to hang up her political hat. As the first woman to hold the position in her community, she helped guide Meota through seasons of change, challenges, and growth. Now, with new leadership in place, and almost 10 months since the election, we had the chance to sit down with Sherry earlier this month to reflect on her time in office.
