You’re invited to participate in the next MAPPERZ Open HDMI Night this Friday, January 31 at EMMEDIA! This is part of a celebration of Luma Quarterly’s last issue that will begin at 7PM until 10PM.

Think open mic night, but with projectors. Plug in to one of many HDMI projector setups on site and shine your media art project that was inspired by the last issue. Present anything from polished to in-progress! Bring your own beamer permitted, and sensors are welcomed. No sound please (music, SFX, etc).

MAPPERZ is a projection mapping club based in Calgary Alberta. Providing workshops, meetups, and presentation opportunities for artists since 2022, this scrappy little club has enjoyed connecting media artists across the prairies. Archived through a newsletter documenting artist opportunities and events, along with an Instagram account sharing artist stories and calls, MAPPERZ is as ephemeral as the projection mapping medium itself.

As the effects of climate change become increasingly apparent, composer and artist Paul Walde crafts a striking homage to a melting glacier.
