IT’S JUST INSIDE by Olabisi David / Dare Mike David
Sometimes last week, I was preparing Deedee for school and like a typical 4 year old she wanted to dress herself up. No worries!

She was dressing up as I got busy preparing her breakfast. By the time I looked to check what she was doing, she had worn her singlet inside out.

I corrected her and she asked if she should remove it and wear it correctly. I told her not to bother. Don’t judge me, we were running late🙈

Next thing, my girl was asking if she could also wear her top inside out! Ah🙄

It was at this moment I realized I had messed up! I had concluded it was okay to wear it that way since it was not visible externally.

Long story cut short, we started all over. No more inside out dressing both inside and outside.

Later in the day, while I thought on what transpired. I started to relate this to our daily living and relationship with others.

How we treat those close to us lesser than random strangers who don’t actually give a damn about us! Simply because they are insiders

How we shower influencers with so much love, same love we refused to show our friends. You won’t even subscribe to their channels or follow their business page.

Let’s bring this home! It’s how we keep the best wares for visitors and just like that it’s been locked in your cabinet for years. Aunty, visitor is not coming! Bring it out and use it to honor your family.

You may not have on ‘extra’ outfits indoor but it’s wrong to wear tattered clothes. How is it that you only freshen up when you have to go out? So outsiders don’t deserve body and mouth odour but your family members do? Mba oh!

You are soft spoken, kind and a good listener to those outside but your spouse can’t even have an honest conversation with you indoor, heavens will fall. You won’t even listen. Bad words we can never say to complete strangers, we use them on our spouse.

I could go on and on! Let’s keep the same energy or better still, our family deserves the best of us. Be good, respectful, supportive inside and outside and if you ever have to do more, let it begin from inside!

Let’s evaluate our ‘inside’ life bearing in mind that God is everywhere and He sees us inside and outside!
