We're a fun and inclusive professional association dedicated to the art, science, and business of vi The first two meetings are always free to attend.

If you wish to join the CPVA, feel free to contact any member in advance, or attend one of our monthly meetings. Membership dues are $95/year, pro-rated as necessary from the date of application to April 30th. After the first year, annual dues are normally paid by May 1st. Membership in the CPVA consists of two categories: Certified and Associate. Both types of members may participate in all meetings and take advantage of networking, training and education opportunities.

Up next will be our June industry BBQ Mixer, where videographers, editors, producers, and content creators from across the industry can connect, share stories, and enjoy great food in the sun. (date and location coming soon)

Join us for an interactive evening of hands-on color exploration! Dive into the art of matching footage from different cameras, working with Log profiles, and experimenting with LUTs. We’ll discuss and test whether the order of applying corrections truly matters. This is a casual, collaborative session designed for video professionals to share tips, troubleshoot challenges, and learn from each other’s workflows. Bring your laptop with some footage, your questions, and your creativity!

Feature Presentation: Pro member Gil Ngai will share a client film project and discuss his process of a 2 week start to finish. Gil will share his streamlined approach, from initial planning to final delivery, highlighting practical strategies for achieving high-quality results on a budget and timeline.

You will gain key takeaways that you can apply immediately to your own projects. If you create video at any level, this is the place to be!

Join us on October 15th for a side-by-side comparison of using boom mics vs lav mics for capturing audio in various film making and videography scenarios.

We’ll have a discussion on the pros and cons for each style of microphone and why it may be good to use both on some occasions.

Lights, camera, action! 🎬✨ Calling all CPVA Members (and non-members) to showcase your best video work at our Annual Film Festival on February 13, 2024 at Mas Studios - 812A 16 Ave SW, Calgary, Alberta. 🎥🍿 Everyone is welcome to join the audience for the festival! Tell your friends to come.

Contest Details:
- Submit your video masterpiece by 7pm the day before the festival.
- All content must be G-rated!
- Max duration: 3 minutes. Be mindful of editing to keep it within the limit.
- Film can be client or non-client work, but it must be from Jan 1, 2023 or later.
- Open to CPVA members and non-members.

- Must be present for your piece to be screened.
- Voting open exclusively to CPVA members, no proxy voting allowed.
