A must do in the Comox Valley.

Grab your favorite flotation device or walk the beach to out to Goose Spit.

Make your way to the point for a nice sandy beach and amazing views of Vancouver Island and the Comox Glacier.

All day long all I wanted to do was float and look for whales.

Packed up our boards and off we went. Ten minutes in and a Humpback came out of the bay. It was too far away for a photo, but it's better to just be in the moment.

Vancouver Island is really something special. The ocean was clear and alive with creatures and plants.

The time is now to really enjoy what this island has to offer.

We can't live without!

Vancouver Island is beautiful, but under threat.

Ancient trees are being cut down, rivers are drying up, and industries that once thrived here are no longer helping.

When you visit take the time to appreciate it and respect it.

One of the best stops on the drive from Lake Cowichan to Port Renfrew is the Harris Creek Spruce Tree.

A massive Sitka spruce tucked just off the Pacific Marine Road.

It’s an easy, quick stop, but standing beside a tree this old and this huge really puts the whole drive into perspective. If you’re exploring Vancouver Island’s west coast, this one is worth pulling over for.

Find spots like this and many others in my full Vancouver Island Road Trip Guide.

I love camping!

Give dirt, bugs, and good times.

Its river time!

I love this time of year on Vancouver Island. The rivers are getting lower so now is the time to enjoy.

Vancouver Island has many rivers and lakes to cool off on your road trip or for us locals to take an afternoon off and relax.

This spot is included in my Vancouver Island road trip guide.
