The city of Somerville in Massachusetts are going viral for the Mayor of a bike pathway: His name is Berry, and he's a cat! The entire path is filled with hilarious election posters and it got us thinking... 🤔

What if the Boss ran for 'Mayor' of the Three Sisters Mountain range?

Comment what you think your pets campaign slogan would be! 😂

PS. that's not actually a picture of The 'Boss' 😉

Canmore Folk Festival is coming up August 2nd, and we want to know what your Go-To Festival Items are?

After I went to one in Washington with +45 degrees, I will never go without a misting fan!! 🧢🍪🔐

I can't believe my last day here is tomorrow! When I announced my resignation 5 weeks ago I put the callout for people who wanted to join me on air to connect with me, and boy, did you ever! It means so much to me. Somehow I've managed to squeeze 63 unique community voices on air with me since that time! Most of that content is now online. Some fantastic segments like:

-Awesome conversations about local history, passions, and life with Community Co-Hosts like Kristy Wolfe, Sarah Freeman, Jill Danielson, Nick de Ruyter, Wanda Bogdane, Tyler McClaron, Tony Esteves, Sarah Pullman, Alexander Finbow, and my 9-year-old son William.

-Sage parting words of wisdom from people like Helen Rose, Luke Elvy, and Kelly VanderBeek.

-So much local music conversation, and a couple of live on air tunes! Ellen Braun, Side Hustle, Caroline Whyte, The Motown 6, Jeremy Kroeker, Steph O'Dette, Mountain Mansion, Mike Petroff, Restrickted...

-So many interesting things going on in our community! Rachel from Tourism Canmore Kananaskis, Laura & Chad from CAMBA, Brenda Stanton from the Bow Valley Adult Learning Centre...

Too many more to list here! You can find them here, and on the Seekr app:

And there's still room for more! On my final morning tomorrow I'd love to hear from you. What's your Mountain FM story? How have you listened to us over the years? What's your favourite memory about the station or my show that springs to mind? Give me a call between 6 - 10 AM tomorrow (June 27th) or text me at 123-321. I'd love to hear from you!

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the area with total rainfall amounts ranging between 50 mm – 100 mm, and with some areas seeing upwards of 150 mm. Rain is expected to taper off by Saturday evening. Depending on the location, peak stream and river flows will occur late Saturday night into Monday morning. Over mountainous terrain and higher elevations, rain is expected to change to snow.

ℹ️ Here is what you need to know:

▪️ There is a high streamflow advisory for steep creeks and the Bow River. We expect to see stream levels rise. No major flooding is expected.

▪️ During this type of event, it is normal to see water in all steep creeks, especially in Cougar Creek and Three Sisters Creek.

▪️ No snow remains within the watershed

▪️ Minor flooding in low-lying areas along the river is possible

▪️ Ponding may occur on roadways

▪️ If an emergency occurs, the Town of Canmore is prepared. Since 2013, we've strengthened our infrastructure, expanded our expertise, enhanced training programs, and developed comprehensive emergency response plans.

⚠️ Here is what you need to do:

▪️ Avoid visiting or recreating near steep creeks during this rainfall event. Flash flooding may occur during heavy downpours. Avoid taking unnecessary risks so that emergency responders can be where they are needed most.

▪️ High winds may accompany this storm. High winds and snowfall at higher elevations may result in broken branches or downed trees on power lines. Be prepared to be without power by charging batteries early and knowing where your flashlight is.

▪️ You don’t need an emergency to think about being prepared. Now is a great time to build your emergency kit if you don’t already have one. Read the Community Emergency Preparedness Guide at canmore.ca/emergencypreparedness to learn what you need to have in order to be self-sufficient for 72 hours.

▪️ If you haven’t already downloaded Voyent Alert, now is the time. Communications about what you need to know or what you need to do during an emergency will be issued through Voyent Alert. Learn more and register at canmore.ca/emergencypreparedness

❤️ Support is here for you:

▪️ If you need a dry space during the day, the Canmore Recreation Centre and Elevation Place have extended hours and public seating.

▪️ For people who may need a dry place to sleep, the outreach program through the Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley is available as a resource. Learn more about it here: https://bit.ly/3FZnhjK

▪️ Regardless of the forecasted rain, this time of year may evoke feelings of stress, anxiety, and worry; free, private mental health services are available throughout the Bow Valley. Connect with resources through https://bit.ly/3mvlDcC
