The Hidden Weapon of Public Shaming in Toxic Digital Teams.

“People are scared to leave that group because they will be publicly shamed.”

Let’s break down what that means on a psychological level:

⭐ 1. That’s coercion.

Not leadership.

When someone stays in a business out of fear of humiliation,
that’s not loyalty, that’s intimidation.

⭐ 2. That’s control.

If you’re scared to exit,
you’re not part of a community, you’re trapped in a system.

⭐ 3. That’s abuse disguised as mentorship.

Healthy leaders help you grow even if you leave.
Abusive leaders shame you when you stop benefitting them.

⭐ 4. That’s financial and emotional manipulation.

“Stay, or we’ll publicly embarrass you.”
That’s the message.
It’s sick.
And it’s unethical.

⭐ 5. That’s exactly why people end up with Digital PTSD.

THIS.
Right here.

Being punished for leaving.
Being talked about in posts.
Being used as a “lesson.”

I’m running on caffeine, Christmas cookies, and the sheer willpower of a woman who refuses to let another December knock her flat.

Hereʼs a little secret...Just What We Have been Up too 👀for the last 2.5 years, and loving every moment of it!

I was burnt right out from the hospitality industry, and I could not go back, I was done.

I missed everything, as I was overworked and underpaid, and making everyone else’s dreams come true except my own. Then the straw that broke the camels back, as I missed my Dad’s last Christmas with us. Yes, my Dad passed away and I was left with grief, guilt, and burn out (not a great combination)

Enough was enough.

So what were my (our) terms, what did I need to do; what did WE need to do?

You guessed it, change, BIG CHANGES

It boiled down to this: OUR REASONS WHY

~What do we want? Easy to answer-We want to be together and not just passing in the hallway, like really together. Ski trips, traveling, hanging out with our dog Shadow and seeing our family and friends anytime we want because we don’t have to apply for vacation time.

~Make memories not ulcers

~Build a nest egg (a big one)- We live in Canmore Alberta and it’s expensive here and we love it and will not give that up for anything.

How did we turn everything around? We went ONLINE my friends, and if you think that’s silly or hokey well you haven’t found the right thing yet. Owning an Online Business was the change, big change that opened up our life, and our eyes to a better solution. I will never ever have to go back to Hospitality, managing resorts and Rob will never have to go back to the Transportation Industry in Management ever again. I will never miss another Christmas, birthday, or family occasion EVER.

Goodbye ulcers, and super stress, and HELLO to us! To Fun & Family!

We are not spring chickens and seriously if we can do this so can you.

You just have to want it bad enough, put yourself first not a corporation

You can change your story, do something you would never normally do.

You might just surprise yourself :)
