When we set out to make stories about Alberta's western heritage, we had no idea they would feature such diverse characters as John Ware, Flores LaDue, and now ... Singh Hari!
Our thanks to Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Minister Tanya Fir for believing in us and supporting Alberta books for Alberta Kids.
Howdy, I'm Singh Hari

All this week, Lee McLean is sharing stories from the ‘Autumn’ section of her first book, HORSE WOMAN, at Keystone Equine. We invite you to saddle up and ride with Lee, as we enter a new season of horsemanship.
For anyone who’d like to purchase HORSE WOMAN or LOVE & RULES, we’re offering a 10% SALE at Red Barn Books until Sept 30. Buy two or more books and save 20% using code FALLFORHORSES. Visit www.redbarnbooks.ca for more info.
The books make great gifts for the horse lovers in your life... and not necessarily women, or riders.

Red Barn Books is a small-but-mighty publisher based in Carstairs, Alberta. We partner with Alberta musicians, artists and experts to put the prairies on the page.
Founded in 2019 by former CBC / BBC news reporter Ayesha Clough, we are fuelled by one desire -- to create beautiful books that leave a lasting imprint on our readers’ hearts.
Our first two books are ‘Rocky Mountain Rangers: Guardians of the Wild’ by The Wardens + Lia Golemba, and ‘Horse Woman: Notes on Living Well & Riding Better’ by Lee McLean.
Three more children’s titles are planned for 2020, as well as a book on management by a veteran people leader I like to call a ‘corporate cowboy’.
So come alongside. We’d love to have you along for the ride.
And please ... keep buying our books so we can make more. Titles can be ordered at redbarnbooks.ca and amazon.ca / com. Thank you for supporting independent Alberta artists and Canadian books.
[The illustration of Ayesha was hand-carved and digitally remastered by Lia Golemba of Pink Spot Studios in Airdrie, Alberta.]
