This week we sat down with one of our hard working lab production techs; so let’s get to know Adam 🎉

• What is your role at Retro?

• My role at Retro is Production Technician; packing products, in the lab producing our honey oil, preparing for shipping, etc. With Retro being a small company we all end up wearing many hats and taking on different roles and responsibilities day to day. This has given me the opportunity to host pop-ups at various Cannabis PEI locations where I get to talk, educate, inform, and most importantly, learn from our customers. I recently was able to go on a trip to Yukon to visit the stores there which is somewhere I may have never visited if not for Retro.

• What is your favourite Retro product?

Although ‘Potent Pete!’ will always hold a special place in my heart, Honey Hash would be my favourite. I am grateful to be the one who formulates our Honey Hash along with Ryan, our quality assurance lead. It is all made by our hands right down to being rolled out with a wine bottle. It is very rewarding to put time and effort into a product and see that quality come to fruition on the final product.

• What do you do outside of work?

I am a home grower as well so a lot of my free time goes towards that, I started my first plant over 4 years ago and fell in love with it. Growing out crosses that will never be available is a unique thing to do and where often times you find a special pheno. Outside of cannabis I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to our cottage in NB and watching movies with my girlfriend.

• What is your favourite part of working in the cannabis industry?

For me it is the people, not just the more knowledgeable people in the industry but also consumers. As I do more pop-ups I get to learn what cannabis means to each person, how they use it, and what for. For a long time it felt wrong to talk about cannabis, so being able to have these open conversations from a wide walk of life is eye opening.
