What did you do to lose your baby fat? Haa! Even after CS your belly has gone down!
Please what did you take?

Me: nothing!
I only do portion control.. portion control will give you more results that other things in losing baby fat..even while breastfeeding, I was portioning what goes into my body!
I have talked about how my attempt to wear belly belt almost kpaid me so I never wore it again.

Stop eating like a hoodlum just because you are breastfeeding! Eat healthy and balanced meals.

My son was not up to 1yr in this picture and I was already back to my pre-pregnancy body..
I agree my gene contributed but my family members get fat if not controlled just so you know!

The girl with the yellow umbrella
Chapter 1 cont.

I don’t know what came over me, but I walked toward her, just
drawn. She noticed me before I reached her and offered a crooked grin.

"Your umbrella’s broken," I said, mostly to say something. She shrugged. “So am I.”

And then she laughed again, the kind of laugh that made people turn their heads . wild, carefree, unfiltered.
That was Ada. Messy and Honest. Alive in a way that made you feel like you hadn’t really been living until she smiled at you.

We ended up sitting in that cafĂ© for hours. I learned that she was a freelance writer that worked odd jobs, hated deadlines, loved classic jazz and hated small talk. She asked me questions people don’t usually ask on first meetings;
“When was the last time you cried?”
“Do you believe love ever really ends?”
“If you knew the exact day you’d die, what would you do differently?”

I gave her half-honest answers. She gave me none. Just smirks and stories, changing subjects with the elegance of someone who’s lived through things they don’t talk about.

That night, I walked her to the bus stop. She offered me her number, then quickly added, “I don’t always respond. But if I do, I mean it.”
I saved it under “Ada Chaos in Yellow.”
She was like that. Never just Ada.

Two weeks passed before she replied to my first text.
“I’m at the dock. Bring coffee. Black. No sugar.”
I found her sitting alone, shoes off, legs dangling off the edge of the dock. She didn’t say hi. Just reached for the coffee and sipped it like she trusted me.

We sat in silence for an hour. It didn’t feel awkward. That’s how it started quietly, without declaration. She became my late-night call, my voice note at 3 a.m., my coffee partner on days when the world felt too loud. She’d show up at my place with books, sit on my floor, and read aloud while I cooked. Sometimes, she’d cry during certain paragraphs and pretend it was dust.

We never said the word love.

But every time she looked at me like I was both a question and an answer, I felt it. Ada wasn’t easy.

She disappeared sometimes no warning, no texts. Gone for days. When she came back, she’d curl up next to me and whisper, “I just needed space.” I didn’t question it.
I didn’t want to scare her away but I didn't like it either.

Looking back now, I wonder if I should have asked more. Demanded more. Maybe then I wouldn’t be standing here, years later, trying to make sense of the story she left unfinished.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: Some people don’t come into your life to stay.
They come to stir things.
To shift your walls.
To show you what love feels like when it’s raw and unafraid. And when they leave, they take the part of you that believed life was predictable.

Ada took that part with her the day she walked into the rain
 and didn’t come back.

To be continued!

If you are having marital issues, the church is not where you should go to!
Your pastor is not a certified marriage counselor!

Remember when I wrote about Jason refusing to get off a bike at the store and I promised to buy him a bike for his 4th birthday?
We have fulfilled that promise and got him a bike but guess what? He has refused to wear helmet to learn how to ride the bikeđŸ˜©đŸ˜”

Here you can't even put a Child on a bike without a helmet but this child has refused to wear the helmet..as soon as his daddy puts the helmet on his head, he will jump off the bike and start screaming!

My people what do I do? I have contemplated returning the bike and helmet so that my money doesn't waste cos no be small money! Abi we should keep trying? Please mothers of young children who ride bikes, kindly give me tips on how to go about it🙏

Thanks in advance đŸ€—

When I say that you can't use shame on me, it's because from a young age people have shamed me for not being beautiful enough like my older siblings, for having hair on my body like a goat, for having big nose, for having k-leg, for not entering the university when my mates were going, for not getting married early like some of my mates! And the list goes on!

But I overcame all these things and still emerged on top..so when I say you can't shame me, I have seen it all and defeated shaming of any kind so I am shameless and no amount of shaming works on me!

Have a wonderful day 👍
