I’m honoured to share that Huff Media has been working with the Museum of the City of New York and the Éenda-Lŭnaapeewáhkiing (Land of the Lenape) Collective to produce a series of videos for the upcoming exhibition, Halumii Ktapihna: Lenape Legacies and Futures.

This project is near and dear to my heart. It shares a glimpse of Lenape/Lunaapeew identity, language, cultural life, and resilience — and features the voices and stories of Lunaapeew relatives, many of whom I now consider family.

As a family-owned video production house based in my home community, Eelŭnaapéewi Lahkéewiit, Huff Media has approached this as a true family production. These videos will help share aspects of our Lunaapeew/Lenape culture that many New Yorkers may not know — the culture of the First Peoples of the territory where New York City now stands.

This exhibition is an important invitation for non-Lunaapeew/Lenape people to connect with the history of the First Peoples of New York — not as something from the past, but as a living, enduring, and future-facing presence.

We were honoured to be asked by the Lambton Kent District School Board to produce this film. We were tasked with capturing an event to increase understanding around Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity.
Invited speakers include: Dr. James Makokis and Anthony Johnson, the first Indigenous Two-Spirit couple to win the Amazing Race Canada; Chris D'Souza, an equity and anti-oppression activist; Cedric Isaac, Bkejwanong Elder and educator; Dorothy Wright, Elder and storyteller from the Black community of Chatham-Kent and Devorah Fick, spiritual leader of Windsor's Congregation Beth El.
