Found in the Goderich Museum. Nineteen-eighty. 📸

Downtown Goderich has changed a little, but that feeling when you drive around The Square hits the same. This is why they call Goderich the prettiest town in Ontario.

Took Highway 21 from Goderich to Kincardine yesterday and man you forget how much is on this road.

Started with coffee in Goderich, harbour fries, then just cruised. Wind turbines spinning like crazy near Ashfield, then a quick stop at the beach bar in Port Albert. Ended up watching sunset by the Kincardine lighthouse.

It’s not the fastest way north, but it’s the only way if you want snack stops, beach bars, and Lake Huron the whole time.

If you’re driving it, give yourself the full day.

📍 Highway 21, Goderich → Kincardine

QUICK STOPS: Goderich → Kincardine (Hwy 21) 🚗💨

1. Goderich Square + Harbour fries — 20 mins
2. Ashfield turbines pull-off — photo, 5 mins 📸
3. Port Albert Beach — beach bar snack + dip, 30 mins
4. Point Clark Lighthouse snack shack — hidden, 15 mins
5. Kincardine Harbour + Davidson Centre loop — lighthouse sunset, 45 mins

Total: 45 min drive, 2 hrs if you actually enjoy it.

Ever wonder why a quiet Huron County town was a top secret WWII target? 📡🇨🇦

Long before it was our peaceful local farming hub, Clinton, Ontario was ground zero for Allied radar innovation. Back in 1941, the establishment of RCAF Station Clinton earned our streets the proud title of Canada’s Home of Radar. That iconic radar monument downtown honors the brilliant minds, the brave service members, and the veterans who sacrificed so much here including those who suffered, served, and have since passed away. We remember and respect their profound legacy.

From the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Neutral peoples, to a vital wartime training station, to the welcoming community we share today our region has always been shaped by evolving stories and diverse people. Different backgrounds, different journeys, but one home.
