If you haven't yet listened to the new Bon Iver album, don't.
Or at least that's what writer Justin Vernon might tell you.

He doesn't like being in the spotlight, and this album is the product of all that. He's taken his classic reverb-soaked-atmospheric-folk sound, and brutalized it in any and every way possible. You're half way through the collection before you even hear a guitar. This leaves us with a broken down, crunchy, punched in the face record, yet somehow still everything we know and love about Bon Iver.

"Retro-Future Anti-Pop" sounds like a ziplock bag of hipster puke, but seriously, the sound of Cascade Falls is a difficult one to place.

Imagine a stiff cocktail that knocks you right out of your tree, but lets you fall like a feather. A shot of Tame Impala dropped into a pint of M83 garnished with a slice of The Naked And Famous. Or maybe Passion Pit releasing an ambient album with Death Cab for Cutie for the soundtrack to your daydreams.

Lo-fi psychedelic indie dream pop ain't too bad.
