Episode 35. Running Home to Yourself with Heather Anderson.

In this episode, Heather shares how running became her escape, her source of strength, and ultimately the thing that carried her through trauma, illness, and finding her way back to herself.
From growing up in a small town in Nova Scotia and navigating a painful relationship with her father, to experiencing endometriosis, an abusive relationship, and years of feeling disconnected from her body, this conversation walks through the many layers of what it means to lose yourself… and then find your way back.
After years of being dismissed by doctors, Heather was eventually diagnosed with a rare adrenal tumour causing Cushing’s disease. Following surgery and a long recovery, she began to reconnect with her body in a completely new way.

This is a story about resilience, self trust, and the power of movement as a way to come home to yourself.

Episode 34. Pain Free is Possible with Lucas Ruhnke

In this episode of How’d You Do It?, I’m honoured to sit down with Lucas Runke, who opens up about his journey of a routine dental procedure which triggered severe, relentless facial nerve pain that completely upended his life. From being fully alive, building a business, making music, relationships to finding himself living in constant agony, Lucas walks us through the physical, mental, emotional and relational toll, the unbearable pain. He tried everything: neurologists, drugs, surgery, alternative therapies, and nothing gave the roadmap he needed.

Eventually, Lucas discovered a different path, pain neuro-plasticity, which allowed him to rewrite his relationship to pain. From 24/7 agony to now living, rather than just surviving. Today, Lucas is mostly pain-free, and as a pain-recovery coach he helps people reclaim their lives from chronic pain.

After a 6 month break, I had planned to wrap up the podcast and focus on some much-needed personal tending. However, I’ve decided to take a different approach, recording and releasing episodes in a more organic rhythm rather than on a set schedule. So, you might see new episodes appear sporadically… a pleasant surprise when they do!

I’m excited to share that a new episode is dropping today, watch this space!

When I felt the call to create this podcast, it was very alive for me. I was so passionate about sharing the medicine of storytelling because I knew SO many inspiring people and their stories.

After a full year, exactly 365 days after the first episode of this podcast, I felt the pull to pause. I’ve spent this break in a deep process of slowing down, letting go, and stripping back. What has come through loud and clear is the message to bring this chapter, and this podcast, to a close (for now).

The door isn’t closed completely, I’ll leave it ajar. If something calls to be shared, I may return. But for now I am listening to my body and I really feel so satisfied and complete with this project.

The existing episodes will stay online across all podcast platforms, so if you haven’t listened yet, please do. I am deeply grateful for every guest who shared their story, and for everyone who listened. These conversations have been powerful teachers, not just for me but for many others too.

This season of life is one of shedding and resting. Along with closing the podcast, I have also closed my somatic therapy practice, my yoga teaching has been on a long pause, and everything else I had been carrying, I’m putting down.

It feels like a long overdue full body exhale.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you to my guests. Thank you to my listeners. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

Episode 33. Creating a Life You Won’t Give Up On with Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld

In this episode, I sit down with legendary skydiver, author, and speaker Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld, whose name has echoed in the skydiving world for decades. From watching his TED talk as a brand-new student in 2011 to jumping with him in 2013 and now finally sitting with him in this full-circle moment, this conversation felt incredibly special.

Dan shares the extraordinary story of how he followed a childhood dream of human flight into a life of skydiving, championship competition, and ultimately—resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy. After surviving a devastating plane crash that claimed 16 lives, left him in a coma, with substantial injuries, Dan made the seemingly impossible decision to heal, return, and continue living the dream he had fought so hard to create.

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to chase something wildly meaningful—despite fear, obstacles, or the odds—this conversation is for you.
