A modern look to the bathroom hardware, decorative lighting and bath accessories that were designed and created locally with the help of a ceramicist. The pieces lean into the home’s earthy tones, while complementing the workmanship throughout. An open-concept primary bathroom in this Cobourg home is light and airy with a floating double vanity and spacious walk-in shower. Atmospheric indirect lighting adds an elevated tone to this tranquil space. Featured in the latest issue: ourhomes.ca/peterborough - p.64

As soon as the homeowners knew that they weren’t going to be able to keep the log cabin overlooking Howdenvale Bay, they decided to build something funky and fun. From there they fell into the A-frame with the extension. Mature cedars bent by years of wind from the lake offer a sense of timelessness as the cottage nestles into its location. The charcoal shingled roof is timeless and will withstand the weather while the front door is slightly inset and protected by a flat roof overhang. The stunning open staircase paired with glass half-walls and floor-to-ceiling windows blurs the line between indoors and out. Expansive windows offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding Rosedale neighbourhood, while light wood flooring and black-framed accents underscore the home’s sleek, modern character. The space is flooded with light and offering elegant views while serving as the heart of the home. Truly a sculptural centrepiece defined by its open, architectural design.
