Sum Her Sum Her , a new local band, did not disappoint last night at Branch 160 Lounge 🎶🙌 Playing a wide range of current hits, from Dua Lipa to Morgan Wallen, Lounge patrons were immersed in the strong and dynamic vocals of Tamaya, with Avery playing a masterful guitar and Colin was keeping time on drums🎶🙌 Thank you for bringing your energetic, soulful and talented vibe to the Lounge, Sum Her Sum Her! Robb Mowbray, treasurer for Courtenay Little Theatre (CLT), was busy at The Studio painting walls, getting the space ready for upcoming presentations, readings and performances. Volunteering along-side Robb was CCNs Terrie Anderson, who is a member of Courtenay Little Theatre. Robb was one of the leads working closely with Providence Living at The Views to acquire the space for CLT about a year ago. Robb, who is an honorary member of Nanaimo Theater Group and former Director of Theatre BC, is currently directing the play, Shadows from a Low Stone Wall, for Echo Players in Qualicum. This play centres on a WWll vet who has returned home to die. The play moves between 1990 Canada and 1943 Italy, where the vet saw action.
States Robb: "It is a love story... a story of redemption...a mystery that unfolds..."

80 years ago, in 1946, when Comox was incorporated as a village, John Hart was Premier of BC. John Hart, a banker, moved from Ireland to Victoria in 1898 and was BCs 23rd Premier, serving from 1941 to 1947.
The first Premier for BC, after BC joined Confederation in 1871, was John McCreight, who served until 1872.
John Hart's most significant legacy on Vancouver Island is the John Hart Dam in Campbell River which began operations in 1947. The dam is situated on John Hart lake. After a successful career in politics and finance, John Hart passed away in 1957 🙏

Larissa, the manager at Avenue Bistro, is excited to be hosting this month's Craft Rave, a community fundraiser organized by Tamara Sprout Productions through Comox Valley Arts, taking place tomorrow, Friday February 20th, at 8 pm until 2 am🌟This is the second Craft Rave to take place at Avenue Bistro, with the first one being in January and was open to crafters of all ages. Tomorrow night will be a 19-years-and-over event🌟If you enjoy crafting, including all art forms such as knitting, 2D art, digital art, bead work and mixed media, basically what ever you enjoy, bring your jam to the Bistro for a night of love and respect, where you'll be listening to DJs playing music ranging from all genres, including techno dance vibes🌟

Alison Lyons, a lead member of the Courtenay Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) wants community members to know that there will be a Pop Up Sale of gently used women's clothing happening at the Comox United Church on Saturday February 21st. PEO, an international organization, raises money to help support education for women through loans, grants, bursaries and scholarships🙌
Funds raised from this Pop Up Sale will help support bursaries at North Island College ( NIC ) as well as the Transition Society and Care-A-Van.
