Watercolor is definitely a big part of my life!

As an unschooling mom, that is my go to when I get time to myself. It’s my favourite creative hobby right now. I decided to focus on it because I really enjoy it and I get so much out of it 💜

That’s why I’m so passionate about it!!

We can be so hard on ourselves when it comes to painting.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not artistic enough to paint,” this is your reminder that creativity doesn’t require perfection. 💛

Sometimes paintings don’t turn out the way we hoped. Just like cakes collapse, cookies burn, and recipes flop.
We generally don’t stop baking or cooking when that happens.

And it shouldn’t mean we stop creating.

The Watercolor Nook Experience is a gentle invitation to put perfection aside, pick up a paintbrush, and simply enjoy the process.

I know it can be hard as unschooling and homeschooling moms to take time for ourselves.

But we have to try! The saying you can’t pour from an empty cup is so true. I learnt the hard way.
Now taking time for myself is not an option and it is how I can still unschool. It took a while to get where I am but I had to start somewhere. I started small, what was achievable for me and my ND daughter.

A year ago I launched The Watercolor Nook.

A watercolor membership for homeschooling and unschooling moms needing a relaxing and regulating hobby while also connecting with others who love it too.

I can’t believe it’s been ONE year 😱

And that we have painted over 50 paintings!! 🤯🤯🤯
A couple are missing because I gave them away as part of our Paint It Forward week.

If you want in and paint something seasonal and new every week, the membership is currently closed but will reopen in June when I launch The Watercolor Nook Experience, a kind of open house/peak into what to expect in the membership without committing for a month!

Not trying to be dramatic over here 😂

But let’s be honest. Running a small business can be hard.

Running a small business while unschooling at the same time AND your partner is working full time is just another level of hard.

I love what I’m doing but there’s just not enough time to do the work to reach as many moms as I’d like to help.

I’ve got a big watercolor event coming up, it’s a lot of work in the background. So if you see this post, I would be grateful if you share and if you don’t already, follow for content on unschooling, watercolor, taking care of ourselves and staying out of burnout💜
