Last August 9, 2025, I got to be part of something amazing - Ugly Potato Day in Cloverdale, BC.This event started in 2022 to promote:💚 Rescuing “ugly” but perfectly good fruits & veggies from going to waste, 🌱 Protecting the planet by reducing food waste🚜 Supporting local farmers🤝 Helping feed our communityThis year ang mission nila ay makapag pamigay ng 500,000 lbs of rescued produce. At dyan kami pumapasok 😅we participated by taking home bags of produce. San ka pa? Nag enjoy ka na, nagparticipate ka pa at higit sa lahat naka libre ka pa ✌🏻They planned to break the Guinness World Record (495,000lbs), but they have decided to focus on giving food away dahil sa mga unnecessary rules and paperwork - but still unofficially beat it!It feels good knowing my haul wasn’t just tasty.. it was part of a much bigger win for the planet and the community. 🥔For those who are interested to join next year, wala pa pong info from the organization kung kelan, saan at pano mag reserve.
