Roblo's Rock's debut EP, Off The Floor, is out today!!

Roblo’s Rocks debut EP Off The Floor launches just in time for summer festival season. Roblo’s Rock is always busy during the summer season. This year is no exception with shows already lined up for Astrolabe Days in Channel-Port aux Basques and Our Lady of Mercy event hall in Port Au Port. This year, however, the band will perform at the closing of the NL Summer Games in Corner Brook, NL. It’s the 50th anniversary of the games and the first time the games have returned to Western Region since 2008. With their first EP in hand the band is ready to make some new fans out of all the sports fans in town.

Off The Floor strikes a balance between preserving the traditional tunes and styles of the Bay St. George region and showcasing their original music. The songs and tunes reflect a wide range of influences while staying grounded in the spirit of the island. From high-energy sets of tunes to heartfelt lyrics, Off the Floor is a celebration of where the band comes from and where they’re going.

Written by Donovan Conran, focus track “Fell In Love Last Night” showcases the band's talent for writing original tunes that fuse local French traditions with their Indigenous, Irish, and Scottish influences bringing a contemporary flare to the Trad genre. With the first single from Off The Floor already surpassing 5K streams, Roblo’s Rock’s audience eagerly awaits this debut EP. Beloved for their high-energy live shows, Roblo’s Rock is ready to take the stage at these special anniversary games as ambassadors for Western region.

Deeply inspired by the culture and soundscape of their home, “Shores,” the first single off Roblo’s Rock’s upcoming debut EP Off the Floor (June 2026), delves into themes of nostalgia that often weave throughout NL's traditional music.

“Shores” showcases the band’s family roots. The melody was composed in 2007 by Robert Benoit, uncle of two band members. Years later Chris Conran, Donovan Conran’s dad, penned lyrics to pair with the tune. Many Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, and Atlantic Canadians know too well the homesickness that can shadow the adventures of living away. Roblo’s Rock captures those
emotions perfectly. Blending traditional musical influences from the Bay St. George/Port Au Port region of Newfoundland, the band merges old and new to create their unique sound.

With shows lined up for late spring and summer, the band will have an opportunity to showcase this family gem along with rollicking traditional and original material that reflects their heritage,
cultural influences, and the strong sense of place that continues to inspire them. Roblo’s Rock proudly joins the lineage of exceptional musicians from Western Newfoundland, bringing an irresistible, toe-tapping energy.
