Did anyone else grow up in Eastern Ontario in the early 90s and remember these, or did I slip into an alternate reality? 😅
I was looking up old photos of the Cornwall Square mall from around 1991, and I stumbled onto this online archive called "Buster's Guide." It looks like a retro data terminal documenting a bunch of local 1991 nostalgia, but things get weird fast.
They have scans of old spiked newspaper clips, weird dial-up terminal logs, and they're even archiving these creepy, bootleg-looking trading cards called "Somatic Scabs" (featuring a mutated golden retriever named Buster). Apparently, the ink on the cards contains "organic tissue residue" from a frequency leak under the mall back in '91?
It’s definitely some sort of hyper-detailed retro creative project or indie horror mystery, but the 1991 tech accuracy and local Cornwall details are wild. It feels exactly like finding a cursed floppy disk from your childhood.
They have a master index of the logs and the trading card data online if anyone wants to help me piece together what this is. Check out the archive start page here:

Anyone else remember "Space Madness" or weird static anomalies from the mall back then? Let me know what you find in the logs! 📟🟢🔒
