August 26 is National Dog Day!

Congrats to our winner & finalists in this years 2023 National Dogs Day Contest!! A Very super duper special thank you to Woofy's for sponsoring the contest & graciously supplying gift baskets!

Winner - Kydo

His name “Kai” = Ocean/Sea + “to” = To fly. Kaito pronounced and now spelled Kydo literally means “Flying over the Sea” he was rescued from Korea and flew a long way to make comox valley his home. He loves exploring all our forests.

Finalist - Maddie

Madde is a 6 year old Labradoodle who loves living in the Comox Valley. She can go from a hike at Nymph Falls to a romp at Airforce Beach! Life is good!

Finalist - Paisley May

Paisley is an almost 4 year old rescue from Missouri. She loves being outside, car rides and snuggling with her people.

“I was the only Asian kid in the school, and it wasn’t always an easy experience,” he said. “People would hit me; they would call me names. No one cared, no one did anything. I didn’t do anything. It was a time where I went to school angry almost every single day. Maybe to process that and maybe for cathartic reasons, I wrote a short, I called it, My Name is Arnold.”
