If you have driven down the Cranbrook Strip you will see the Sandor Rental Equipment Christmas Tree is back for the first time since 2019 as Sandor celebrate 55 years in Cranbrook. Kids 14 and under can guess how many lights have been used. Email your guess to [email protected] with your child's age, name, and information how to contact you. 1st place for closest guess is $500, 2nd place is $350 and 3rd place is $200. Contest not open to adults. Winners will be announced Friday afternoon January 2nd on 107.5 2day FM. Your child must be present to collect prize winnings. Creston (and other areas across BC) are currently experiencing a widespread power outage, with restoration time unknown at this point.

In the meantime, here are a few quick tips to stay safe and comfortable:
• Use flashlights or battery-powered lights (candles are not recommended)
• Unplug electronics to protect them from power surges
• Keep fridge and freezer doors closed to preserve food
• Limit cell phone use to essential communication only
• Layer up with blankets, close off unused rooms, and block drafts with towels
• Do not use gas stoves, ovens, or BBQs for heat — carbon monoxide can be deadly
• Check in on neighbours, friends, and family who may need extra help
